Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya perkembangan percaya diri anak usia dini serta masih ditemukan perilaku verbal abuse. Dalam praktik pengasuhan, perilaku verbal abuse seperti membentak, memberi julukan negatif, meremehkan kemampuan anak, dan memberikan komentar negatif berpotensi mempengaruhi perkembangan percaya diri anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara verbal abuse orang tua dan percaya diri anak usia 5-6 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil uji korelasi diperoleh bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif antara variabel X dan variabel Y, hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai Sig (2-tailed) < 0,025 yaitu 0,001 < 0,025. Dengan demikian maka hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah Ho ditolak dan H1 diterima, sedangkan nilai R square diperoleh sebesar 0,146 yang menunjukkan bahwa persentase hubungan verbal abuse orang tua dan percaya diri anak usia 5-6 tahun sebesar 14%. Kata kunci: kekerasan verbal, kepercayaan diri anak, anak usia dini*****This research is motivated by the importance of developing self-confidence in early childhood and the persistence of verbal abuse behavior by parents. In parenting practices, verbal abuse behavior by parents such as shouting, giving negative nicknames, belittling children's abilities, and giving negative comments has the potential to affect the development of children's self-confidence. This study aims to determine the relationship between verbal abuse by parents and self-confidence in children aged 5-6 years. This study uses a quantitative method. Based on the results of the correlation test, it was found that there was a negative relationship between variable X and variable Y, this was evidenced by the Sig value (2-tailed) <0.025, namely 0.001 <0.025. Thus, the hypothesis in this study is that Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, while the R square value obtained was 0.146 which indicates that the percentage of the relationship between verbal abuse by parents and self-confidence in children aged 5-6 years was 14%.
