Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dengan prestasi belajar pada siswa SMK Bina Pangudi Luhur Jakarta. Berdasarkan data dan fakta yang tepat (shahih, benar, valid) dan dapat dipercaya (dapat diandalkan/reliabel). Penelitian ini dilakukan selama tiga bulan, terhitung sejak bulan Februari sampai dengan Mei 2009. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei dengan pendekatan korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa SMK Bina Pangudi Luhur sebanyak 446 siswa. Sampel yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas X jurusan Administrasi Perkantoran yang berjumlah 139 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik acak proporsional (Simple Random Sampling Technique). Persamaan regresi linier sederhana menghasilkan persamaan regresi Ŷ= 40,74 + 0,24 X. Uji persyaratan analisis untuk menguji normalitas galat taksiran regresi Y atas X menunjukan bahwa galat taksiran regresi Y atas X berdistribusi normal. Hal ini dibuktikan oleh perhitungan yang menunjukan bahwa Lhitung ( 0,0746 ) < Ltabel ( 0,0751 ) dengan menggunakan uji Liliefors pada taraf signifikan (α) = 0,05. Dalam uji hipotesis, uji keberartian dan kelinieran regresi menggunakan tabel Analisis Varians (ANAVA). Dari hasil uji keberartian regresi diperoleh Fhitung ( 48,65 ) > Ftabel ( 3,92 ) yang menyatakan regresi berarti. Dari hasil uji linearitas regresi diperoleh Fhitung ( 48,65 ) < Ftabel ( 3,92 ) yang menunjukkan bahwa model regresi yang digunakan adalah linier Koefisien korelasi yang dihitung dengan menggunakan rumus Product Moment dari Pearson menghasilkan rxy sebesar 0,512 , sedangkan hasil dari uji signifikansi diperoleh thitung sebesar 6,97 dan ttabel sebesar 1,65 . Dikarenakan thitung > ttabel, maka disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional dengan prestasi belajar siswa pada SMK Bina Pangudi Luhur. Perhitungan koefisien determinasi menunjukan 26,21 % variasi variabel Y ditentukan oleh variabel X. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah terdapat hubungan yang positif antara kecerdasan emosional dengan prestasi belajar siswa pada SMK Bina Pangudi Luhur.. Hal tersebut berarti semakin baik kecerdasan emosional maka semakin tinggi pula prestasi belajarnya. ***** Purpose of this research is to find about the possibility a positive correlation between Emotional Quotient with The Learn Performance of Students in SMK Bina Pangudi Luhur Jakarta, based on valid and reliability data and facts. The period of the research was three months, since February until May 2009. The research used survey methods by correlation approach. The population data all of the students that major officer Administration in SMK Bina Pangudi Luhur. The reached population were 446 students. The sampling of the research were all of the students that major officer Administration 139 students. The sampling technique was the simple random sampling technique. The analysis test by finding regression equation, that is Ŷ= 40,74 + 0,24 X. The analysis conditional test proved the validation on variable Y to variable X is normal distributed. It is proved by the calculation that used Liliefors test at significant level (α) = 0,05 that indicates Lcount ( 0,0746 ) < Ltable ( 0,0751 ). At the hypotesis test the significant and linear regression test are using Analysis of Variance table (ANOVA). The result of the significant regression test indicates Fcount ( 48,65 ) > Ftable ( 3,92 ). It state the formula of regression is significant. The result of the linear regression test indicates Fcount ( 48,65 ) < Ftable ( 3,92 ). It state the regression model is linear. The coefficient of correlation counted by Product Moment formula by Pearson indicates rxy = 0,512 while the result of correlation coefficient significant test indicates tcount = 6,97 and ttable =1,65 . Because the result shows t count > t table, the research indicates there is a significant correlation between Emotional Quotient with The Learn Performance of Students in SMK Bina Pangudi Luhur East Jakarta. The counted of determination coefficient test indicates 26,21 % the variance of variable Y is determined by variable X. The conclusion of research shown that a positive correlation between Emotional Quotient with The Learn Performance of Students in SMK Bina Pangudi Luhur Jakarta.
