Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan data tentang makna dalam puisi Ballade vom Paragraphen 218 karya Bertolt Brecht melalui Semiotika Riffaterre. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dalam bidang linguistik terapan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan pendekatan Semiotika Riffaterre. Tahapan yang ditapaki untuk menganalisis puisi Ballade vom Paragraphen 218, yaitu: (1) mangkaji ketidaklangsungan ekspresi (2) pembacaan heuristik dan pembacaan hermeneutik, (3) menentukan matriks, model, dan varian-varian, (4) dan menentukan hipogram. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif-analitis, yaitu sumber data dianalisis berdasarkan teori Semiotika Riffaterre. Hasil penelitian dari analisis makna puisi Ballade vom Paragraphen 218 melalui Semiotika Riffaterre adalah sebagai berikut: (1) ketidaklangsungan ekspresi yang terdapat pada puisi ini berupa penggantian arti yang terdiri dari bahasa kiasan metafora, personifikasi, metonimia dan sinekdoki berupa pars pro toto; penyimpangan arti terdiri dari ambiguitas, ironi dan nonsense; penciptaan arti berupa gabungan rima dari Kreuzreim dan Paarreim serta Enjabement (2) Pembacaan heuristik menggambarkan tentang dialog antara seorang dokter dan seorang perempuan bernama Renner yang mengeluhkan tentang dirinya yang sedang hamil muda, namun ia tidak siap melahirkan seorang anak karena kondisi ekonominya yang tidak mendukung dan pembacaan hermeneutik menggambarkan kritik terhadap pasal 218 yang melarang aborsi dengan menggambarkan penderitaan rakyat Jerman pada masa itu (3) Matriks berupa kritik Brecht terhadap pasal 218. Model puisi berupa kalimat Und jetzt keinen Stuss yang menggambarkan keotoriteran pemerintah Jerman. Varian-varian berupa gagasan-gagasan pendukung yang tersebar pada tiap bait puisi. (4) Hipogram yang ditemukan dalam puisi ini adalah berupa hipogram potensial, yakni kritik dan protes pada pasal 218 Pada penelitian ini, hasil analisis melalui Semiotika Riffaterre menunjukkan bahwa puisi Ballade vom Paragraphen 218 menggambarkan kritik terhadap pasal 218 yang melarang aborsi dengan menggambarkan penderitaan rakyat Jerman dan puisi ini juga memiliki ciri-ciri kesusastraan Neue Sachlichkeit, seperti menolak pemakaian kata-kata yang muluk dan gaya yang penuh perasaan. Semiotika Rifaterre ************ This study is aimed to recquire data about the meaning in the poem of Ballade vom Paragraphen 218 by Bertolt Brecht using Semiotics Riffaterre. This study is a qualitative research of applied linguistics. Semiotic Riffaterre approach is used as the data analysis technique. The stages in analysing the poem of Ballade vom Paragraphen 218 are: (1) examining the discontinuity of expression (2) heuristic reading and hermeneutic reading, (3) determining the matrix, model, and variants, (4) and determining the hypogram. The descriptive-analytical method is used in this study – the data sources were analyzed based on the Riffaterre Semiotics theory. The results of this study on the analysis of the meaning of the poem Ballade vom Paragraphen 218 using Semiotics Riffaterre are as follows: (1) the discontinuity of the expression contained in this poem is a replacement the meaning consisted of metaphorical figurative language, personification, metonymy and synekdoki in the form of pars pro toto; the deviation of meaning consists of ambiguity, irony and nonsense; the creation of meaning consist of the combination of rhymes between Kreuzreim and Paarreim and Enjabement (2) The heuristic reading describes a dialogue between a doctor and a woman named Renner who wail about herself being pregnant in young age, however she is not ready to give birth of her child because of her unsupportive economic condition, besides the hermeneutic reading illustrates the criticism of the article of 218 which prohibits abortion by describing the suffering of the German people at that time (3) The matrix is in the form of Brecht's criticism of the article of 218. The poem model in the form of the sentence Und jetzt keinen Stuss which describes the authoritarianism of the German government. The variants are in the form of supporting ideas in each verse of the poem. (4) The hypogram found in this poem is in the form of a potential hypogram – criticism and protest in article 218. In this study, the results of the analysis using Semiotics Riffaterre show that the poem Ballade vom Paragraphen 218 describes criticism of the article of 218 which prohibits abortion by describing the suffering of the German people and this poem also has the characteristics of Neue Sachlichkeit literature, like rejecting the use of grandiose words and soulful style.
