Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh pemahaman mendalam mengenai absurditas dalam novel Frappe-toi le cœur karya Amélie Nothomb dan implikasinya pada pendidikan dan pembelajaran bahasa Prancis di Universitas Nergeri Jakarta. Kategori unsur absurditas pada penelitian ini mengacu pada teori absurditas yang berlandaskan tujuh unsur-unsur absurditas yaitu menurut Cornwell. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis struktural-semiotik. Analisis dilakukan pertama dengan memaparkan setiap unsur intrinsik novel, yaitu alur, penokohan, dan latar. Tahap berikutnya adalah mengidentifikasi dan menginterpretasikan data-data yang mengandung unsur absurditas dalam bentuk kutipan berisi kata, frasa, kalimat, makna dan konteks dalam sumber data. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dengan bantuan tabel kerja analisis data yang memuat tujuh unsur absurditas. ABSTRACT This research intends to gain insight on absurdity taken from the novel Frappe-toi le cœur by Amélie Nothomb. The category of absurdity in this study is focused on seven aspects of absurdity based on elements that is stated by Cornwell. The research method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method with structural-semiotic approach. Analysis is accomplished by describing intrinsic elements of literary prose (novel) such as plot, characters and setting. The next step is identifying and interpreting the data of absurdity elements in the form of citations of words, phrases, sentences, with meanings and contexts contained in the novel. The instrument used in this study was from the researcher himself with the help of data analysis tables containing seven elements of absurdity.
