Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pet attachment terhadap interpersonal skill pada mahasiswa aktif Fakultas Pendidikan Psikologi Universitas Negeri Jakarta angkatan 2016, 2017, 2018, dan 2019 yang memelihara kucing di tempat tinggalnya. Tipe penelitian ini ialah penelitian kuantitatif. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Lexington Attachment to Pets Scale (LAPS) yang dikembangkan oleh Johnson, Garrity & Stallones dan Interpersonal Competence Quesionnaire (ICQ) yang dikembangkan oleh Buhrmester, Furman, Wittenberg & Reis. Hasil penelitian pada 60 responden menunjukkan bahwa nilai P 0,029 < α 0,05 dan F hitung 5,007 > F tabel 4,00 sehingga terdapat pengaruh antara pet attachment terhadap interpersonal skill pemilik kucing pada mahasiswa Fakultas Pendidikan Psikologi Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Hasil analisis data, terdapat pengaruh antara pet attachment terhadap interpersonal skill sebesar 7,9%. This study aim to determine the effect of pet attachment on interpersonal skill in college student of the Faculty of Educational Psychology State University of Jakarta, class of 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 who keep cats in their homes. This type of research is quantitative research. The measuring instrument used is the Lexington Attachment to Pets Scale (LAPS) developed by Johnson, Garrity & Stallones and the Interpersonal Competence Questionnaire (ICQ) developed by Buhrmester, Furman, Wittenberg & Reis. The result of this study on 60 respondents showed that the P value of 0.029 < α 0.05 and F value 5.007> F table 4.00 shows that there is an influence between pet attachment on interpersonal skills of cat owners in the Faculty of Psychology Education, Jakarta State University. The results of data analysis, there is an influence between pet attachment on interpersonal skill variable by 7.9%.
