Abstract

In this 21st century, ICT competencies have become an important role in the world of education. It is also widely known that textbook holds an important role as one of learning sources in education. Thus, ICT competencies and textbooks have an important role in the world of education. This study analyzes the representation of ICT Competencies in English teaching textbooks for junior high schools. This reported research sought to portray how and which ICT competencies are represented by the English Textbook for Junior High School. Content analysis was employed in this study. The data were ICT competencies representation covered in textbook components of an English textbook entitled “English on Sky 2”. Results showed that (1) 97 representation of ICT competencies are found and the dominant representation found in the form of Hypermedia (95%), followed by Communication Media (5%). (2) The table analysis adapted from ISTE NETS Standards for Students showed the data are represented in the Knowledge Constructor (64%), Computational Thinker, Global Collaborator, and Creative Communicator. Di abad 21 ini, kompetensi TIK telah menjadi peran penting dalam dunia pendidikan. Diketahui juga bahwa buku teks memegang peranan penting sebagai salah satu sumber belajar dalam dunia pendidikan. Dengan demikian, kompetensi TIK dan buku teks memiliki peran penting dalam dunia pendidikan. Penelitian ini menganalisis representasi Kompetensi TIK dalam buku teks pengajaran bahasa Inggris untuk sekolah menengah pertama. Penelitian yang dilaporkan ini berusaha untuk menggambarkan bagaimana dan kompetensi TIK mana yang diwakili oleh Buku Teks Bahasa Inggris untuk Sekolah Menengah Pertama. Analisis isi digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Data merupakan representasi kompetensi TIK yang tercakup dalam komponen buku teks buku teks bahasa Inggris berjudul “English on Sky 2”. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) 97 representasi kompetensi TIK ditemukan dan representasi dominan ditemukan dalam bentuk Hypermedia (95%), disusul Media Komunikasi (5%). (2) Analisis tabel yang diadaptasi dari ISTE NETS Standards for Students menunjukkan data direpresentasikan dalam Knowledge Constructor (64%), Computational Thinker, Global Collaborator, dan Creative Communicator.
