Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengidentifikasi makna pembatalan wisuda pada masa pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode penelitian analisis tematik (data driven). Subjek penelitian berupa komentar di laman petisi online change.org dengan jumlah komentar sebanyak 182. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa wisuda merupakan sebuah perayaan atau selebrasi atas pengorbanan, perjuangan, dan penantian calon wisudawan. Wisuda juga merupakan sebuah harapan dan impian calon wisudawan. Calon wisudawan menganggap bahwa wisuda merupakan momen sakral dan terciptanya perasaan positif seperti kebahagiaan dan kebanggaan. Ditiadakannya wisuda pada masa pandemi COVID-19 menimbulkan emosi negatif, di antaranya adalah perasaan kecewa, keberatan, pernyataan kurang setuju, rasa sakit hati, dan kata-kata sindiran. This research was conducted with the aim of identifying the meaning of canceling graduation during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is a qualitative research using thematic analysis (data driven) research methods. The research subjects were comments on the change.org online petition page with 182 comments. The results showed that graduation is a celebration or celebration of sacrifice, struggle, and waiting for prospective graduates. Graduation is also a hope and dream of prospective graduates. Prospective graduates assume that graduation is a sacred moment and the creation of positive feelings such as happiness and pride. The abolition of graduation during the COVID-19 pandemic caused negative emotions, including feelings of disappointment, objections, statements of disagreement, hurt feelings, and words of satire
