Abstract

Eksistensi perempuan adalah perempuan memiliki kebebasan berpartisipasi dalam kehidupan dimulai dari sosial, ekonomi dan politik. Penelitian ini menggunakan eksistensi perempuan karena kedua tokoh perempuan dalam novel menemukan eksistensi mereka dalam kehidupan. Peneliti menggunakan kajian sastra bandingan karena kedua novel berasal dari dua negara yang berbeda yaitu Indonesia dan Jepang. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan model analisis struktural. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah tabel. Peneliti membagi tabel menjadi tiga yaitu tabel Eksistensi Perempuan pada novel Gadis Pantai karya Pramoedya Ananta Toer, tabel Eksistensi Perempuan pada novel The Scent of Sake karya Joyce Lebra dan tabel perbandingan budaya kedua novel. Teori yang digunakan adalah struktural, feminis eksistensialis dan sastra bandingan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah Eksistensi Perempuan ditemukan pada kedua novel. Namun, mistik yang merupakan tahap justifikasi tidak ditemukan di novel TSOS. Eksistensi perempuan dalam perbandingan budaya ditemukan di kedua novel dengan menjelaskan perbedaan dan persamaan kedua budaya. The existence of women is that women have the freedom to participate in life starting from social, economic dan political. This study uses the existence of women because the two female characters in the novel find their existence in life. The researcher uses comparative literary because the two novels come from two different countries, namely Indonesia and Japan. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a structural analysis model. The analysis technique used is a table. The researcher divides the table into three, namely the table for the existence of women in the novel Gadis Pantai by Pramoedya Ananta Toer, the table for the existence of women in the novel The Scent of Sake by Joyce Lebra and the comparison table for the culture of the two novels. The theories used are structural, existentialist feminist and comparative literature. The result of this research is the existence of women found in both novels. However, the mystique which is the stage of justification is not found in the TSOS novel. The existence of women in cultural comparisons is found in both novels by explaining the differences and similarities between the two cultures.
