Abstract

This study was conducted to design ICT Competences-integrated teaching-related syllabuses in English Language Education Program. ICT implementation in education aspect has been increasing rapidly. It can be seen as Indonesian government stated that ICT should be integrated in the curriculum. Therefore, there is a need to develop ICT-integrated syllabuses as it is required by the regulations and also it is important to have the ICT skills for students in order to face the 21st century challenges that rely on the 21st century skills. The study focused on integrating ICT Competences into teaching-related syllabuses which are English for Specific Purposes and Teaching English for Young Learners. Design and Development Research (DDR) was implemented as the design of this research. In conducting the research, this study analyzed five ESP syllabuses and five TEYL syllabuses from different universities. The syllabus components of those syllabuses were analyzed in order to find the ICT integration on them and develop the new design of the syllabus based on the gap between the existing syllabus and the required one using UNESCO ICT Framework and other ICT-based theories. The results of this study found that there is a lack of ICT integration in the existing syllabuses. Furthermore, a new design of ICT Competences-integrated syllabuses were proposed in this study as the final product of this research.
