Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis dan menguji pengaruh langsung positif: (1) perilaku kepemimpinan terhadap efektivitas kerja; (2) komunikasi interpersonal terhadap efektivitas kerja; (3) kepuasan kerja terhadap efektivitas kerja; (4) perilaku kepemimpinan terhadap kepuasan kerja; (5) komunikasi interpersonal terhadap kepuasan kerja; (6) perilaku kepemimpinan terhadap komunikasi interpersonal. Digunakan desain penelitian survei-kausal dengan teknik analisis jalur. Sampel penelitian 171 guru SMP Swasta di Ciledug Kota Tangerang. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan empat kuesioner yaitu: Efektivitas Kerja (rα=0,85), Perilaku Kepemipinan (rα=0,86), Komunikasi Interpersonal (rα=0,86) dan Kepuasan Kerja (rα=0,92). Hipotesis penelitian diuji dengan menggunakan analisis jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Terdapat pengaruh langsung positif yang signifikan perilaku kepemimpinan terhadap efektivitas kerja. (2) Terdapat pengaruh langsung positif yang signifikan komunikasi interpersonal terhadap efektivitas kerja. (3) Terdapat pengaruh langsung positif yang signifikan kepuasan kerja terhadap efektivitas kerja. (4) Terdapat pengaruh langsung positif yang signifikan perilaku kepemimpinan terhadap kepuasan kerja. (5) Komunikasi interpersonal berpengaruh tidak signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja. (6) Terdapat pengaruh langsung positif yang signifikan perilaku kepemimpinan terhadap komunikasi interpersonal. (7) Kepuasan kerja dan komunikasi interpersonal merupakan mediator parsial dari pengaruh perilaku kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap efektivitas kerja guru. (8) Terdapat pengaruh positif yang signifikan perilaku kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, komunikasi interpersonal dan kepuasan kerja secara silmultan terhadap efektivitas kerja guru. Disimpulkan bahwa keragaman efektivitas kerja guru SMP swasta di Ciledug Kota Tangerang dapat diprediksi melalui keragaman perilaku kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, komunikasi interpersonal guru, dan kepuasan kerja guru baik sendiri-sendiri ataupun secara bersama-sama. Komunikasi interpersonal guru merupakan prediktor tertinggi terhadap efektivitas kerja guru dibandingkan dengan perilaku kepemimpinan kepala dan kepuasan kerja guru. Kebaruan penelitian sebagai faktor pembeda dengan penelitian sebelumnya adalah: (1) variabel prediktor efektivitas kerja guru yang dianalisis; (2) rujukan teori dan konsep, dimensi, indikator dan instrumen penelitian; (3) lokasi penelitian; dan (4) desain penelitian. The purpose of the study was to analyze and to examine the positive direct effects of: (1) leadership behavior on work effectiveness; (2) interpersonal communication on work effectiveness; (3) job satisfaction on work effectiveness; (4) leadership behavior on job satisfaction; (5) interpersonal communication on job satisfaction; (6) leadership behavior on interpersonal communication. Survey-causal research design was used with path analysis techniques. The study sample was 171 private secondary school teachers in Ciledug, Tangerang City. Data were collected using four questionnaires, namely: Teacher Effectiveness (rα=0.85), Principal Leadership Behavior (rα=0.86), Teacher Interpersonal Communication (rα=0.86) and Teacher Job Satisfaction (rα=0, 92). The research hypothesis was tested using path analysis. The results of the study show that: (1) There is a significant positive direct effect of leadership behavior on work effectiveness. (2) There is a significant positive direct effect of interpersonal communication on work effectiveness. (3) There is a significant positive direct effect of job satisfaction on work effectiveness. (4) There is a significant positive direct effect of leadership behavior on job satisfaction. (5) Interpersonal communication does not have a significant effect on job satisfaction. (6) There is a significant positive direct effect of leadership behavior on interpersonal communication. (7) Job satisfaction and interpersonal communication are partial mediators of the influence of principal leadership behavior on teacher work effectiveness. (8) There is a significant positive influence on principal leadership behavior, interpersonal communication and job satisfaction simultaneously on teacher work effectiveness. It was concluded that the diversity of work effectiveness of private secondary school teachers in Ciledug Kota Tangerang can be predicted through the diversity of principals' leadership behaviors, teacher interpersonal communication, and teacher job satisfaction. Teacher interpersonal communication is the highest predictor of teacher work effectiveness compared to principal leadership behavior and teacher job satisfaction. The novelty of research as a differentiating factor with previous research is: (1) predictor variables of work effectiveness of teachers analyzed; (2) reference to theories and concepts, dimensions, indicators and research instruments; (3) research location; and (4) research design.
