Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi literatur. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji literatur tentang peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis melalui model Problem Based Learning. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan jurnal-jurnal terkait untuk kemudian dibaca dan dikaji. Setelah data terkumpul, dilakukan pengujian dan pembandingan data yang ditemukan dalam sumber tersebut. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan pengutipan pendapat-pendapat yang sesuai. Tahapan analisis data pada penelitian ini yaitu: pengumpulan data (data collection), reduksi data (data reduction), penyajian data (data display), dan penarikan kesimpulan (conclusions/verifying). Hasil penelitian studi literatur menunjukkan bahwa: 1). komponen-komponen model Problem Based Learning berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa melalui: (a) pembelajaran yang terpusat pada siswa, (b) masalah yang disajikan kepada siswa dalam pembelajaran adalah masalah yang autentik, (c) dalam proses pemecahan masalah siswa berusaha untuk mencari sendiri melalui sumbernya, (d) siswa mengembangkan pengetahuan secara kolaboratif dalam kelompok kecil, dan (e) guru hanya berperan sebagai fasilitator; 2). penerapan Problem Based Learning terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa juga disertai peningkatan kemampuan belajar lainnya, antara lain: (a) motivasi belajar matematika siswa, (b) sikap sosial, (c) kepercayaan diri siswa terhadap matematika, dan (d) karakter kreativitas siswa. Penerapan model Problem Based Learning berimplikasi terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang sangat diperlukan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning secara praktis dapat dijadikan salah satu bahan masukan dalam rangka meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis pada siswa pada proses pembelajaran matematika dan meningkatkan produktivitas sekolah melalui peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran. This research is a literature study. The purpose of this study was to examine the literature on improving mathematical critical thinking ability using Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. Data collection is done by collecting related journals for later reading and review. After the data is collected, testing and comparing the data is found. The data analysis technique was carried out qualitatively by citing appropriate opinions. The stages of data analysis in this study are: data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusions / verifying. The results of the literature study research show that: 1). the components of the Problem Based Learning model contribute to improving students’ mathematical critical thinking skills through: (a) student-centered learning, (b) the problems presented to students in learning are authentic problems, (c) in the problem-solving process students try to find themselves through the sources, (d) students develop knowledge collaboratively in small groups, and (e) the teacher only acts as a facilitator; 2). the application of Problem Based Learning towards increasing students’ mathematical critical thinking skills is also accompanied by the improvement of other learning abilities, including: (a) students motivation to learn mathematics, (b) social attitudes, (c) students’ confidence in mathematics, and (d) the character of students’ creativity. The application of the Problem Based Learning model has implications for increasing students’ mathematical critical thinking skills which is very necessary to solve mathematical problems in everyday life. Increasing mathematical critical thinking skills through the application of the Problem Based Learning model can practically be used as an input in order to improve students’ mathematical critical thinking skills in the mathematics learning process and increase school productivity through improving the quality of learning.
