Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali dan mengeksplorasi secara mendalam tentang fenomena kesantunan tindak tutur mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia FKIP Universitas Islam Riau. Desain penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologis. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui rekaman tindak tutur mahasiswa dan wawancara semistruktur dengan 48 orang mahasiswa yang berasal dari suku Melayu, Jawa, Minang, Batak, Banjar, Sunda, dan Bugis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada 15 bentuk tindak tutur kesantunan mahasiswa yaitu bentuk pujian, perintah, permintaan, persetujuan, pemberian, ajakan, penolakan, dermawan, tuturan yang menyinggung orang lain, ungkapan terima kasih, rendah hati, simpati, sombong, tuturan yang membebani lawan tutur dan tuturan penerimaan. Selanjutnya, fenomena kesantunan yang terjadi dalam tuturan mahasiswa dilatarbelakangi oleh beberapa faktor. Pertama, pandangan yang berbeda dari mahasiswa tentang kesantunan yang dilatarbelakangi oleh budaya dan lingkungan tempat tinggal. Kedua, kebiasaan cara bertutur yang mereka gunakan dalam pertuturan. Ketiga, pemahaman mereka terhadap konteks pertuturan. This study aims to gain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon of politeness in speech acts of students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program FKIP Riau Islamic University. The design of this research is qualitative with phenomenological methods. The data in this study were obtained through recorded speech acts and semistructured interviews with 48 students from Malay, Javanese, Minang, Batak, Banjar, Sundanese, and Bugis ethnic groups. The results showed that there were 15 forms of acts of courtesy of students, namely the form of praise, orders, requests, approval, giving, invitations, rejection, generous, speech that offended others, expressions of gratitude, humility, sympathy, arrogance, speech that burdens opponents speech and acceptance speech. Furthermore, the politeness phenomenon that occurs in student speech is motivated by several factors. First, the different views of students about politeness that are motivated by the culture and environment of residence. Second, the speaking habits they use in speech. Third, their understanding of the context of speech.
