Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk memahami dan mengetahui penerapan komunikasi interpersonal pada diri anak dalam keluarga poligami, serta pemaknaan dan penerimaan atas pengalamannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan naratif dengan desain autobiografi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa anak dari keluarga poligami memiliki hubungan yang harmonis dengan ibu kandung dan saudara kandung. Lain halnya dengan hubungan dengan ayah kandung mengalami perubahan seperti tegang, merenggang, dan mengalami kemunduran kasih sayang. Selain itu, hubungan dengan keluarga tiri, masih berada dalam adaptasi untuk mengembangkan hubungan menjadi lebih baik. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini anak dari keluarga poligami merasakan dinamika komunikasi interpersonal pada setiap anggota keluarga. Oleh karena itu, anak dari keluarga poligami membutuhkan waktu untuk mengembangkan keefektivitas komunikasi interpersonal pada seluruh anggota keluarga. Implikasi penelitian ini dapat menggambarkan komunikasi interpersonal anak dalam keluarga poligami, sehingga bisa memberikan pemahaman menyeluruh tentang perubahan kondisi keluarga poligami yang terjadi. The purpose of this study was to understand and determine the application of interpersonal communication to children in polygamous families, as well as the meaning and acceptance of their experiences. This study uses a narrative approach with an autobiographical design. The results of this study indicate that children from polygamous families have a harmonious relationship with biological mothers and siblings. It is different with the relationship with the biological father experiencing changes such as tension, distant relationship, and experiencing a decline in affection. Also, the relationship with the stepfamily is still in the adaptation to develop a better relationship. The conclusion of this study, children from polygamous families feel the dynamics of interpersonal communication in each family member. Therefore, children from polygamous families need time to develop the effectiveness of interpersonal communication with all family members. The implication of this research is to describe the interpersonal communication of children in a polygamous family so that it can provide a comprehensive understanding of the changes in the conditions of a polygamous family that occur.
