Abstract

************** This study aims to determine the effect of the intensity of playing onlinegames on academic procrastination among students in Jakarta. The method used is a quantitative method with simple regression analysis techniques. This study uses 3 measuring tools, namely: using the Tuckman Procrastination Scale (TPS) measurement tool from Tuckman in 1990 to measure academic procrastination, Nashori's theory (2006) from 2006 to measure the intensity level of playing online games and the DASS (Depression, Anxiety Stress Scale) ). The sample consists of 374 people who are active university students in Jakarta aged 18-25 years. This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to students according to the criteria. The result of r square in the first regression is 0.024 or 24%, while the result of the second regression the r square value increases to 0.029 or 2.9%. The increase was 0.5% in the presence of a moderator. The results that can be concluded in this study indicate that stress levels can strengthen the relationship between the intensity of playing online games and academic procrastination.
