Abstract

Rendahnya kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia menurut Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) disebabkan karena besarnya persentase siswa yang berprestasi rendah. Oleh sebab itu peningkatan mutu pendidikan sangat dibutuhkan di era ini. Adanya kinerja siswa yang tinggi khususnya pada ranah kognitif akan mempengaruhi kualitas pendidikan. Prestasi siswa berupa hasil belajar siswa merupakan hasil interaksi antara berbagai faktor. Faktor-faktor tersebut meliputi budaya dan motivasi sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh budaya sekolah dan motivasi terhadap kinerja siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMAN 36 Jakarta pada semester I bulan Agustus 2020 sampai Januari 2021. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei dengan pendekatan kausal kuantitatif dan analisis jalur. Sampel penelitian yaitu 67 siswa kelas XI MIPA. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk student’s performance berupa tes dan opinioner untuk school culture dan motivasi. Hasil perhitungan koefisien reliabilitas instrument student’s performance sebesar 0.899, school culture 0.893, dan motivasi 0.836. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis, terdapat pengaruh langsung antara budaya sekolah terhadap motivasi, motivasi terhadap kinerja siswa dan budaya sekolah terhadap kinerja siswa. Selanjutnya terdapat pengaruh tidak langsung antara budaya sekolah terhadap kinerja siswa melalui motivasi. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa untuk mengembangkan kinerja siswa, faktor-faktor seperti budaya sekolah dan motivasi perlu dipertimbangkan dan dikembangkan. Low quality of education in Indonesia according to Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) is due to the large percentage of student’s low achievement. Hence improving the quality of education is urgently needed in this era. The existence of a high level student performance, especially in the cognitive domain, will affect education’s quality. Student’s performance in a form of student learning outcomes is the result of the interaction between various factors. These factors include school culture and motivation. This study aims to determine the effect of school culture and motivation toward student’s performance. This research was conducted at SMAN 36 Jakarta on the 1st semester, in August 2020 until January 2021. The method of this research was survey method with quantitative-causal approach and path analysis. The sample of this research were 67 student grade XI MIPA. Instrument for student’s performance is a test, and for school culture and motivation is opinionary. The calculation of the student’s performance reliability coefficient is 0.899, school culture 0.893, and motivation 0.836. Based on the hypothesis test, there is a direct effect between school culture toward motivation, motivation toward student’s performance and school culture toward student’s performance. Furthermore, there is indirect effect between school culture toward student’s performance through motivation. Based on these results, it can be concluded that to develop student’s performance, factors such as school culture and motivation need to be considered and developed.
