Abstract

ABSTRAK Media pembelajaran berupa buku paket sering kali membuat para siswa merasa bosan dan tidak tertarik untuk mempelajari materi di dalamnya. Karena itu, diperlukan sebuah media pembelajaran baru yang asyik yang dapat menarik perhatian siswa, seperti SKIES book, sehingga siswa dapat memahami materi dengan lebih mudah. SKIES (Study For Kids Inovation Easy of Sains) book yang dimaksud dalam penelitian ini merupakan sebuah buku yang mengadaptasi teknik pop-up book dan mengintegrasikan materi IPA dengan menyajikan informasi mengenai siklus hidup hewan dan upaya pelestariannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah research and development (R & D) milik Borg dan Gall, yang telah dimodifikasi. Uji kelayakan SKIES book dilakukan kepada satu ahli media, satu ahli materi, dan satu ahli bahasa. Sedangkan uji coba SKIES book sebagai media pembelajaran dilakukan kepada siswa kelas empat Sekolah Dasar. Dikarenakan kondisi pandemi Covid-19, maka penelitian hanya dilakukan hingga tahap one-to-one dengan melibatkan tiga siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner. Hasil uji kelayakan SKIES book dari ahli media ialah 96,36%, dari ahli materi ialah 92%, dan dari ahli bahasa ialah 96,67%. Sedangkan uji coba SKIES book sebagai media pembelajaran pada ketiga siswa menghasilkan angka 97,33% dengan kategori sangat baik. Artinya SKIES book ini dapat digunakan oleh peserta didik kelas empat untuk memudahkan mereka dalam memahami materi siklus hidup hewan dan upaya pelestariannya. Therefore, we need a fun new learning media that can attract students' attention, such as the SKIES book, so the students can understand the material more easily. The SKIES (Study For Kids Innovation Easy of Sains) book referred to in this study is a book that adapts pop-up book techniques and integrates science material by presenting information about the life cycle of animals and their conservation efforts. The research method used is research and development (R & D) by Borg and Gall, which has been modified. The SKIES book feasibility test was conducted on one media expert, one material expert, and one linguist. While the SKIES book trial as a learning medium was carried out on fourth grade elementary school students. Due to the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic, the research was only carried out until the one-to-one stage involving three students. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results of the SKIES book feasibility test from media experts are 96.36%, from material experts it is 92%, and from linguists it is 96.67%. Meanwhile, the SKIES book trial as a learning medium for the three students resulted in a 97.33% score in the very good category. It means that this SKIES book can be used by fourth grade students to make it easier for them to understand the material on the life cycle of animals and their conservation efforts.
