Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pentingnya kemampuan literasi sains, menganalisis model pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan literasi sains, dan menganalisis indikator-indikator yang menentukan kemampuan literasi sains siswa. Metode yang dipergunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode studi pustaka. Studi pustaka merupakan studi yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan dokumen seperti naskah, buku, koran, majalah, dan lain-lain. Langkah-langkah yang dilakukan adalah menyiapkan alat perlengkapan, menyusun bibliografi kerja, mengatur waktu, membaca dan membuat catatan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi sains penting bagi siswa sekolah dasar karena siswa dapat menerapkan pengetahuan sains dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan membantu siswa memecahkan masalah yang dihadapi. Pembelajaran IPA memiliki peranan penting untuk menanamkan kemampuan literasi sains siswa. Beberapa metode pembelajaran dapat menjadi referensi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains dalam pembelajaran IPA yaitu model Problem Based Learning (PBL), pendekatan kontekstual dan pendekatan saintifik, dan SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, and Intellectual). Adapun indikator-indikator yang menjadi referensi untuk menentukan kemampuan literasi sains yaitu, konten sains, proses sains dan konteks sains. Selain itu referensi indikator lainnya juga pada beberapa aspek yaitu konsep sains dan penerapannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari; proses inkuiri sains; memahami hakikat sains;, memahami hubungan antara sains, teknologi dan masyarakat Kata Kunci: Literasi Sains, Pembelajaran IPA This study aims to analyze the importance of science literacy ability, to analyze the learning models improving science literacy, and to analyze the indicators that determine students' science literacy ability. The method used in this research is the library study method. Literature study is a study conducted by using documents such as manuscripts, books, newspapers, magazines, and others. The steps taken are to prepare equipment tools, to compile work bibliography, to set the time, to read and make research notes. The results show that science literacy skills are important for elementary school students because students can apply science knowledge in their daily lives and help students solve problems. Science learning has an important role to instill students' science literacy skills. Some learning methods can be a reference to improve science literacy skills in science learning, namely Problem Based Learning (PBL) models, contextual approaches and scientific approaches, and SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, and Intellectual). The indicators that become references to determine the ability of science literacy are, science content, science processes and science contexts. In addition, other indicator references are also in several aspects, namely the concept of science and its application in daily life; the process of science ins and outs; understanding the nature of science; understanding the relationship between science, technology and society.
