Abstract

Penelitian dan pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk berupa Buku Cerita Bergambar dengan berfokus kepada pendidikan karakter. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development dengan menggunakan model pengembangan Borg and Gall yang terdiri dari 7 langkah pengembangan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan melibatkan expert review yang terdiri dari ahli bahasa inggris dan ahli media, pengembangan juga melibatkan peserta didik kelas III Sekolah Dasar. Dari data hasil uji coba analisis kebutuhan menunjukkan bahwa penyampaian materi pendidikan karakter di sekolah sudah baik, tetapi guru juga memberikan saran bahwa perlunya media lain untuk mengajarkan pendidikan karakter di Sekolah Dasar, salah satunya melalui media Buku Cerita. Pada uji coba lapangan dengan responden peserta didik, diperoleh hasil 82%. Ini menunjukkan bahwa media buku cerita bergambar memberikan dampak yang signifikan dan efektif dalam menerapkan pendidikan karakter pada peserta didik kelas III Sekolah Dasar. This research and development aim to produce a product in the form of a Picture Story Book with a focus on character education. This study uses the Research and Development method using the Borg and Gall development model which consists of 7 development steps. The research was conducted by involving an expert review consisting of English language experts and media experts, the development also involved third grade elementary school students. Based on the data from the needs analysis trial results show that the delivery of character education material in schools is good, but the teacher also provides suggestions that other media are needed to teach character education in elementary schools, one of which is through the storybook. In field trials with student respondents, the results obtained 82%. This shows that the picture book has a significant and effective impact in implementing character education in grade III elementary school students.
