Abstract

The objective of this research was to understand the effect of goalsetting and goal commitment on performance. It was a quantitative research which was conducted in seventy nine state schools located in Tanggamus Regency, Lampung. The research used a survey method with path analysis applied in testing hyphotesis. It was conducted to 127 teachers as the respondents which were selected in a simple random way. The result of this study are: (1). There is a positive direct effect of goalsetting on performance. (2). There is a positive direct effect of goal commitment on performance, and (3). There is a positive direct effect of goalsetting on goal commitment.
