Abstract

ABSTRACT Environmental awareness is a multidimensional construct consisting of cognitive, attitude, and behavioral components. Cognitive components consist of knowledge of one's environment, locus of control, and interpersonal communication. This knowledge of the environment concerns ongoing environmental issues. While the attitude in this case concerns one's attitude towards the environment. Some people have shown that environmental attitudes capture a person's level of concern or interest in specific or general aspects of the environment, ecology, or energy saving. The behavior measured in this study as one component of environmental awareness is recycled behavior. In providing "opportunities for students to engage in a variety of personal, social, economic or political issues stemming from the role science has come to work in students makes the relationship between science education and environmental education more suitable, and therefore it makes sense to pursue the development of environmental awareness through science. This research is to discover the effects of Knowledge about the environment, locus of control and Interpersonal communication through environmental awareness. This study uses quantitative method with Path analysis technique where the data has been analyzed by path analysis after the variable data is entered into the correlation matrix. In this study, respondents were grade 8 students of SMP Negeri in Grogol Subdistrict, West Jakarta who had been selected as analysis units and 187 samples were selected in multi stages random sampling. The results found environmental awareness was directly influenced by interpersonal communication. In addition, it was found that environmental awareness is indirectly influenced by knowledge of the environment, locus of control through interpersonal communication. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that variations that have occurred in environmental awareness may have been influenced by variations in knowledge about the environment, locus of control, and Interpersonal Communication. Keywords: knowledge of the environment, locus of control, interpersonal communication, environmental awareness *********** Kesadaran lingkungan adalah konstruksi multidimensi yang terdiri dari komponen kognitif, sikap, dan perilaku. Komponen kognitif terdiri dari pengetahuan tentang lingkungan seseorang, lokus kontrol, dan komunikasi interpersonal. Pengetahuan tentang lingkungan ini menyangkut masalah lingkungan yang sedang berlangsung. Sementara sikap dalam hal ini menyangkut sikap seseorang terhadap lingkungan. Beberapa orang telah menunjukkan bahwa sikap lingkungan menangkap tingkat kepedulian atau minat seseorang dalam aspek spesifik atau umum lingkungan, ekologi, atau penghematan energi. Perilaku yang diukur dalam penelitian ini sebagai salah satu komponen kesadaran lingkungan adalah perilaku daur ulang. Dalam memberikan "kesempatan bagi siswa untuk terlibat dalam berbagai masalah pribadi, sosial, ekonomi atau politik yang berasal dari ilmu peran telah datang untuk bekerja pada siswa membuat hubungan antara pendidikan sains dan pendidikan lingkungan lebih cocok, dan karena itu masuk akal untuk mengejar pengembangan kesadaran lingkungan melalui ilmu pengetahuan. Penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan efek pengetahuan tentang lingkungan, locus of control dan komunikasi interpersonal melalui kesadaran lingkungan. Studi ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis Path di mana data telah dianalisis dengan analisis jalur setelah data variabel dimasukkan ke dalam matriks korelasi. Dalam penelitian ini, responden adalah siswa kelas 8 SMP Negeri di Kecamatan Grogol, Jakarta Barat yang telah dipilih sebagai unit analisis dan 187 sampel dipilih dalam multi tahapan random sampling. Hasilnya menemukan kesadaran lingkungan secara langsung dipengaruhi oleh komunikasi interpersonal. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa kesadaran lingkungan secara tidak langsung dipengaruhi oleh pengetahuan tentang lingkungan, lokus kontrol melalui komunikasi interpersonal. Berdasarkan temuan ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa variasi yang telah terjadi dalam kesadaran lingkungan mungkin telah dipengaruhi oleh variasi pengetahuan tentang lingkungan, locus of control, dan Komunikasi Interpersonal.
