Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi peserta didik terhadap penggunaan media film dalam pembelajaran sejarah di SMA Negeri 42 Jakarta. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dari membagikan kuesioner online kepada peserta didik SMA Negeri 42 Jakarta. Didapatkan sebanyak 168 responden dari seluruh tingkatan kelas X, XI, dan XII, serta dari kedua jurusan baik IPA maupun IPS. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa minat peserta didik terhadap penggunaan film dalam pembelajaran sejarah sangat tinggi. Namun minat yang tinggi dari peserta didik ini tidak diimbangi dengan peran aktif guru dalam memfasilitasi pembelajaran sejarah menggunakan film. Secara lebih spesifik, hasil penelitian ini dibagi menjadi tiga bagian, yaitu : 1) minat peserta didik terhadap penggunaan film dalam pembelajaran, 2) peran guru dalam memfasilitasi pembelajaran menggunakan film, dan 3) efektivitas menonton film terhadap pemahaman pembelajaran sejarah peserta didik. Minat peserta didik terhadap penggunaan film menunjukkan hasil yang sangat tinggi. Hampir semua peserta didik mendukung penggunaan media film dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Sementara peran guru dalam memfasilitasi pembelajaran menggunakan film masih terbatas. Menurut peserta didik, peran yang sering guru lakukan hanya memberikan tugas dan memaparkan penjelasan terkait film yang ditonton. Terkait dengan efektivitas film, peserta didik mengaku bahwa pembelajaran melalui film cukup efektif dalam mendukung pembelajaran sejarah. 82% peserta didik menjawab bahwa film membantu mereka memahami pelajaran sejarah dan lebih mudah dipahami dibanding penjelasan guru. Meskipun begitu, film sejarah yang ditonton tidak selalu sesuai dengan materi sejarah yang dipelajari. The purpose of this study was to determine students' perception on the use of film media for history education at SMA Negeri 42 Jakarta. The research method used in this study is descriptive quantitative. Research data were obtained from distributing online questionnaires to students at SMA Negeri 42 Jakarta. Total respondents are 168 students from all grade i.e. X, XI, and XII, as well as from both major i.e. natural sciences and social sciences. The results of this study found that students' interest in the use of films for history education are very high. However this was not matched by the active role of the teacher to facilitate history education through films. More specifically, the results of this study are divided into three parts : 1) students’ interest on the use of films for learning history, 2) teachers role to facilitate learning history through films, and 3) films effectiveness on students’ understanding of history material. Students' interest in the use of films for learning history are very high. Almost all students support the use of films on history education. Meanwhile teachers’ role to facilitate learning history through films is limited. According to students, teachers’ mostly only give homework and deliver explanations about the films. Concerning films effectiveness on learning, students claim that films are quite effective for learning history. More than 80% of students answered that films helped their understanding of history material and are easier to understand than teacher explanations. Nonetheless, the history films watched do not always match the history material being studied.
