Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana efektivitas penggunaan platform WhatsApp dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh selama pandemi covid-19. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teori efektivitas menurut Wotruba dan Wright dimana efektivitas pembelajaran dapat dilihat dari tujuh indikator. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, penyebaran angket dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan teknik statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa platform WhatsApp dipilih sebagai media pembelajaran jarak jauh di MI Tarbiyatul Athfal karena lebih mudah digunakan. Kegiatan pembelajaran pembelajaran jarak jauh di MI Tarbiyatul Athfal selama pandemi covid-19 menggunakan platform WhatsApp yang terbagi menjadi kegiatan pembuka, inti dan penutup. Penggunaan platform WhatsApp terbukti efektif dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh di MI Tarbiyatul Athfal dikarenakan berbagai kemudahan yang menunjang pembelajaran selama pandemi Covid-19. Selain memiliki kelebihan, penggunaan Platform WhatsApp juga memiliki kekurangan dalam penggunaannya sebagai media pembelajaran jarak jauh, seperti mengambil memori handphone yang cukup banyak, jika jaringan internet bermasalah maka platform WhatsApp tidak bisa digunakan dan banyak peserta didik yang mengirimkan tugas diluar waktu yang telah ditentukan. Kata kunci: efektivitas, WhatsApp, pembelajaran jarak jauh *********** This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the WhatsApp platform in distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The theory used in this study uses the theory of effectiveness according to Wotruba and Wright where the effectiveness of learning can be seen from seven indicators. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. Data collection techniques using interview techniques, distributing questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this study are descriptive statistical techniques. The results of this study indicate that the WhatsApp platform was chosen as a media for distance learning in MI Tarbiyatul Athfal because it is easier to use. Distance learning activities at MI Tarbiyatul Athfal during the Covid-19 pandemic used the WhatsApp platform which was divided into opening, core and closing activities. The use of the WhatsApp platform has proven effective in distance learning at MI Tarbiyatul Athfal due to the various conveniences that support learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Besides having advantages, the use of the WhatsApp Platform also has disadvantages in its use as a medium for distance learning, such as taking up quite a lot of cellphone memory, if the internet network has problems, the WhatsApp platform cannot be used and many students are late in sending assignments outside the specified time.
