Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab banyaknya anak putus sekolah dan pelaksanaan Program Wajib Belajar 12 Tahun masyarakat kawasan penambangan kapur Ciampea, Kabupaten Bogor. Responden pada penelitian ini adalah anak putus sekolah dan kepala keluarga yang tinggal di kawasan penambangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, kuesioner/angket, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Berdasarkan analisa data hasil penelitian, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penyebab banyaknya anak putus sekolah di kawasan penambangan adalah karena kemauan anak sendiri, faktor ekonomi, lingkungan sekolah, dan juga karena anak lebih memilih bekerja di penambangan. Masih banyaknya anak putus sekolah di kawasan penambangan membuktikan bahwa pelaksanaan Program Wajib Belajar 12 Tahun belum terlaksana dengan baik oleh masyarakat, hal ini dipengaruhi oleh beberapa kendala yang meliputi rendahnya minat dan kemampuan sekolah anak, kondisi sosial, ekonomi dan geografi masyarakat. Maka dari itu perlu adanya perhatian lebih dari pihak tokoh masyarakat dan dinas pendidikan setempat dalam mengatasi permasalahan anak putus sekolah dalam pelaksanaan Program Wajib Belajar 12 Tahun. Kata kunci: Anak putus sekolah, Pelaksanan Program Wajib Belajar 12 Tahun, Masyarakat *********** This study aims to find out the cause of the number of children dropping out of school and the implementation of the Compulsory Learning Program 12 Years community of ciampea limestone mining area, Bogor Regency. Respondents to the study were dropouts and family heads living in mining areas. This research uses descriptive method. Data collection techniques using observations, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and literature studies. Based on the data analysis, it was concluded that the cause of the number of children dropping out of school in the mining area is because of the child's own will, economic factors, school environment, and also because the child prefers to work in mining. The number of dropouts in the mining area proves that the implementation of the Compulsory Learning Program 12 Years has not been carried out properly by the community, this is influenced by several obstacles that include low interest and ability of children's school, social conditions, economic and geography of the community. Therefore, there needs to be more attention from community leaders and local education officials in addressing the problem of dropouts in implement the 12-Year Compulsory Learning Program.
