Abstract

Remy Hastian, Framing Media Analysis of Kompas and Muslim Era in Reporting the Shooting of FPI Laskar at the Cikampek Toll Road, Islamic Religious Education, Faculty of Social Sciences, State University of Jakarta, 2021. The results of the press, both articles, news and opinions that have been constructed by the mass media, have a significant impact on society. The subjective language of news that has been constructed by media can lead public opinion and perspectives to the interests desired by the media. With this research, the researcher seeks to see how the framing is carried out by mass media in viewing and presenting an event, as well as the influence of the interests of online media ownership to lead their opinion to the public. This study analyzed 4 news units regarding the shooting of 6 FPI troops at the Cikampek toll road from Kompas and Era Muslim media objects with a qualitative approach and using the Zhong Pan and Gerald Kosicki framing analysis method. In the process, this research shows that the framing of the two media has several differences. The framing carried out by Era Muslim is in the interest of understanding the tarbiyah that he has, Meanwhile, Kompas with a general understanding and trying to remain in the middle position of the two parties. Likewise, trying to invite the public to pay attention to this issue and manage the media in the future together. Keywords: Framing, Mass media, FPI, Police.
