Program Studi: Pendidikan Tata Rias, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. *ABSTRAK* Dalam proses pembelajaran pendidikan tata rias, emosi mahasiswa memiliki peran penting guna memperlancar proses pembelajaran, baik secara teori maupun praktik. Kecerdasan emosi diperlukan mahasiswa pendidikan tata rias supaya mampu memahami dan mengenal emosi diri maupun orang lain, mampu mengendalikan emosi dengan cepat sehingga tidak larut dalam emosi yang dirasakan, serta mampu menggunakan emosi tersebut dengan tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh kecerdasan emosi terhadap prestasi akademik mahasiswa Pendidikan Tata Rias. Metode penelitian yaitu penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis korelasional. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa Pendidikan Tata Rias angkatan 2017 dan 2018 berjumlah 70 mahasiswa dengan menggunakan teknik sampel total. Metode analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana, uji korelasi, dan uji koefisien determinasi. Sedangkan uji prasyarat analisis menggunakan uj normalitas Kolmogorov-Smirnov dan uji linearitas. Hasil analisis menunjukkan nilai sig. 0,688>0,05 yang artinya tidak terdapat pengaruh kecerdasan emosi terhadap prestasi akademik. Hasil R square 0,003 artinya kecerdasan emosi hanya berkontribusi sebesar 0,3% terhadap prestasi akademik. Sedangkan 99,7% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain, diantaranya faktor fisiologis mencakup kesehatan dan pancaindera, faktor psikologis mencakup kecerdasan, sikap, minat, bakat, dan motivasi. Selain itu faktor eksternal mencakup keluarga, lingkungan sekolah, dan masyarakat sekitar. Selain itu, Nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar -0,058 artinya kedua variabel memiliki arah negatif sehingga semakin tinggi kecerdasan emosi maka semakin rendah prestasi akademik. Kesimpulannya adalah hipotesis nol (Ho) diterima, yang menyatakan bahwa tidak ada pengaruh kecerdasan emosi terhadap prestasi akademik mahasiswa pendidikan tata rias. Study Program: Makeup Education, Faculty of Engineering, Jakarta State University. In the process of learning makeup education, student emotions have an important role to facilitate the learning process, both in theory and practice. Emotional intelligence is required for students of makeup education in order to be able to understand and know the emotions of themselves and others, able to control emotions quickly so that they do not dissolve in the emotions felt, and able to use those emotions appropriately. This study aims to find out whether or not the influence of emotional intelligence on the academic achievements of students of Makeup Education. The research method is quantitative research with correlational type. The samples in this study were 2017 and 2018 makeup education students, numbering 70 students using total sample techniques. The data analysis method uses simple linear regression analysis, correlation test, and determination coefficient test. While the prerequisite test analysis uses uj normality Kolmogorov-Smirnov and linearity test. The results of the analysis show the value of sig. 0.688> 0.05 which means that there is no influence of emotional intelligence on academic achievement. The result of R square 0.003 means that emotional intelligence only contributes 0.3% to academic achievement. In addition, the correlation coefficient value of -0.058 means that both variables have a negatif direction so that the higher the emotional intelligence, the lower the academic achievement. The conclusion is that the null hypothesis (Ho) is accepted, which states that there is no effect of emotional intelligence on the academic achievement of cosmetology education students.
