Abstract

Adaptasi atau biasa dikenal sebagai alih wahana telah lama dikenal dalam proses kreatif penciptaan sebuah karya seni. Adaptasi adalah proses kreatif yang memindahkan media karya yang sudah ada kepada media karya baru. Tujuan proses penciptaan karya adaptasi bermacam-macam: mulai dari kedekatan emosional dengan karya, upaya melestarikan karya yang mulai usang, hingga kemasyhuran karya tersebut sehingga dapat menarik banyak perhatian masyarakat. Salah Asuhan karya Abdoel Moeis merupakan karya sastra angkatan Balai Pustaka. Tema di dalam novel ini sangat penting karena menyangkut perjalanan masyarakat Indonesia pada masa kolonial menuju pemikiran modern. Kemunculannya harus dikenang sebagai "tonggak sejarah" kesusastraan Indonesia. Adaptasi novel Salah Asuhan menjadi naskah drama bertujuan untuk melestarikan karya tersebut. Research-led Practice merupakan metode yang diperkenalkan oleh Hazel Smith dan Roger T. Dean. Metode tersebut mendorong praktik pembuatan karya berdasarkan riset yang sudah dilakukan. Metode ini dapat digunakan untuk menjelaskan proses kreatif pembuatan karya seni. Kata kunci: Adaptasi, Karya Sastra, Research-led Practice, Salah Asuhan. ********** Adaptation or well-known as Alih Wahana has long been recognized in the creative process of creating a work of art. Adaptation is a creative process that transfers existing work media to new media works. The purpose of creation process of adaptation works is various: started from emotional closeness to the work, to preserve the work that is started to obsolete, to the fame of the work so that it can attract a lot of public attention. Abdoel Moeis's Salah Asuhan is a literary work from the Balai Pustaka class. The theme in this novel is very important because it concerns the journey of Indonesian society during the colonial period to modern thinking. The emergence of it should be memorized as a "milestone" of Indonesian literature. The adaptation of the novel Salah Asuhan into a drama script aims to preserve the work. Research-led Practice is a method introduced by Hazel Smith and Roger T. Dean. That method stimulate the practice of making works based on research that has been done.
