Abstract

Secara umum penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh data empiris mengenai sikap dan persepsi orang tua terhadap penggunaan gawai (gadget) di masa Pandemi Covid-19 pada anak usia 7-8 tahun di SD Labschool Cibubur. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah orang tua murid yang memiliki anak usia 7-8 tahun atau berada pada tingkatan kelas 1 dan 2 SD di SD Labschool Cibubur. Teknik yang digunakan dalam penentuan sampel pada penelitian ini ada simple random sampling. Metode penelitian yang akan digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner. Berdasarkan analisis data empiris yang diperoleh, didapatkan hasil bahwa orang tua murid kelas 1 dan kelas 2 di SD Labschool Cibubur telah membangun sikap dan persepsi yang baik terhadap penggunaan gawai (gadget) pada anak di masa pandemi covid-19, orang tua sudah memahami adanya konsekuensi negatif maupun kelebihan yang ditawarkan oleh gawai (gadget), orang tua mempersiapkan hal-hal yang perlu dilakukan sebelum memberikan gawai (gadget) seperti membuat kesepakatan durasi penggunaan, situs yang diperbolehkan dan tidak diperbolehkan untuk diakses serta memiliki kesiapan mental, finansial dan keterampilan, serta orang tua mengetahui tindakan yang harus dilakukan ketika anak menggunakan gawai (gadget). Orang tua diharapkan dapat membentuk sikap dan persepsi yang semakin baik terhadap penggunaan gawai (gadget) pada anak usia 7-8 tahun di masa pandemi covid-19 ini agar dapat mewujudkan Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh (PJJ) yang efektif dan efisien. In general, this study aims to obtain empirical data regarding the attitudes and perceptions of parents towards the use of gadgets during the Covid-19 Pandemic in children aged 7-8 years at Labschool Cibubur Elementary School. The sample used in this study was parents of students who have children aged 7-8 years or are in grades 1 and 2 at Labschool Cibubur Elementary School. The technique used in determining the sample in this study is simple random sampling. The research method that will be used is a descriptive quantitative method. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires. Based on the analysis of empirical data obtained, it was found that parents of grade 1 and grade 2 students at Labschool Cibubur Elementary School have built good attitudes and perceptions towards the use of gadgets in children during the covid-19 pandemic. Parents already understand the negative consequences and advantages offered by the gadget, parents prepare things that need to be done before giving the gadget such as making an agreement on the duration of use, sites that are allowed and not allowed to be accessed and have mental readiness, financial and skills, and parents know what to do when children use gadgets. Parents are expected to form better attitudes and perceptions towards the use of gadgets for children aged 7-8 years during the COVID-19 pandemic in order to realize effective and efficient distance learning.
