Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan efektivitas supervisi akademik. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 234 Jakarta pada bulan Januari hingga Juli 2021. Informan penelitian adalah kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah dan tiga orang guru mata pelajaran. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi, namun lebih dominan wawancara karena keterbatasan selama masa pandemik ini. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: Peran kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan efektivitas supervisi akademik yang lebih dominan adalah peran kepala sekolah sebagai supervisor, manajer, leader, dan motivator. Supervisi akademik yang dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah berdasarkan prinsip supervisi sudah dilakukan. Kepala sekolah melakukan supervisi akademik dengan praktis, realistis, sistematis, objektif, antisipatif, humanis, demokratis, kooperatif, konstruktif, kekeluargaan, berkesinambungan, terpadu, dan komprehensif. This study aims to determine the role of the principal's leadership in increasing the effectiveness of academic supervision. The research was conducted with a descriptive qualitative approach. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 234 Jakarta from January to July 2021. The research informants were the principal, vice principal and three subject teachers. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation and documentation, but interviews were more dominant due to limitations during this pandemic. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that: The principal's leadership role in increasing the effectiveness of academic supervision is more dominant than the principal's role as supervisor, manager, leader, and motivator. Academic supervision carried out by the principal based on the principle of supervision has been carried out. The principal conducts academic supervision in a practical, realistic, systematic, objective, anticipatory, humanist, democratic, cooperative, constructive, familial, sustainable, integrated, and comprehensive manner.
