Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kesepian dan depresi dengan harga diri sebagai mediator pada remaja di masa pandemik covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis regresi linear berganda. Variabel depresi diukur dengan BDI-II yang dirancang oleh Beck, Steer & Brown (1996), variabel kesepian diukur dengan de jong loneliness scale yang dirancang Gierveld & Tillburg (2006), dan variabel harga diri diukur dengan SES yang dirancang Rosenberg (1965). Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 240 mahasiswa yang sesuai dengan kriteria penelitian. Hasil analisis regresi kesepian terhadap depresi, kesepian terhadap harga diri, dan harga diri terhadap depresi menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan 0,000 (p-value < 0,05). Kesepian terhadap depresi memiliki hubungan ke arah positif yang menandakan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat kesepian maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat depresi. Kesepian terhadap harga diri memiliki hubungan ke arah negatif yang menandakan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat kesepian maka harga diri semakin rendah. Harga diri terhadap depresi memiliki hubungan ke arah negatif yang menandakan bahwa semakin rendah harga diri maka semakin tinggi tingkat depresi. Terdapat hubungan dan pengaruh yang signifikan antara kesepian dan depresi dengan harga diri sebagai variabel mediator dengan hasil uji regresi berganda sebesar 0,000 (p-value < 0,05) yang artinya, terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara kesepian dan depresi dengan harga diri pada remaja di masa pandemic covid-19. This study aims to determine the relationship between loneliness and depression with self-esteem as a mediator in adolescents during the covid-19 pandemic. This study uses quantitative research methods with multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The depression variable was measured by the BDI-II designed by Beck, Steer & Brown (1996), the lonely variable was measured by the de jong loneliness scale designed by Gierveld & Tillburg (2006), and the self-esteem variable was measured by the SES designed by Rosenberg (1965). The sampling technique in this research is purposive sampling. The research subjects were 240 students who matched the research criteria. The results of the regression analysis of loneliness on depression, loneliness on self-esteem, and self-esteem on depression show that there is a significant relationship 0.000 (p-value <0.05) Loneliness to depression has a positive relationship which indicate that the higher level of loneliness, the higher level of depression. Loneliness to self-esteem has a negative relationship which indicates that the higher level of loneliness, the lower level of self-esteem. Self-esteem to depression has a negative relationship which indicates that the lower level of self-esteem, the higher level of depression. There is a significant relationship and influence between loneliness and depression with self-esteem as a mediator variable with multiple regression test results of 0.000 (p-value <0.05), which means that there is a significant effect between loneliness and depression with self-esteem in adolescents during the covid-19 pandemic.
