Abstract

Komunikasi interpersonal menjadi salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi remaja dalam menyesuaikan diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan profil kecakapan komunikasi interpersonal peserta didik kelas VIII di SMP Islam. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Islam sebanyak 148 siswa. Pengambilan sampe menggunakan simple random sampling. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian berupa survey. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan perhitungan persentase. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket berupa instrument tes kecakapan komunikasi interpersonal peserta didik kelas 8 SMP Islam yang dikembangkan menggunakan teori efektifitas komunikasi interpersonal yang dikembangkan oleh Devito terdiri dari aspek keterbukaan, empati, sikap mendukung, sikap positif, dan kesetaraan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik SMP Islam memiliki kecakapan komunikasi interpersonal yang efektif. 5% berada pada kategori sangat tinggi, 79% pada kategori tinggi dan 16% berada pada kategori sedang, sementara tidak ada peserta didik yang berada pada kategori rendah atau sangat rendah. Peserta didik perempuan lebih dominan memiliki kecakapan komunikasi interpersonal yang efektif dibanding dengan laki-laki. Interpersonal communication is one of the factors affecting the youth in adjusting. The research was intended to get a profile of the VIII class interpersonal communication skills at Islamic junior high. This research sample was the student of VIII junior Islamic class of 148 students. Retrieval using the simple random sampling. The research approach used is a quantitative descriptive approach with research methods of surveys. Data analysis is done using percentage calculation. Data collection is run through using an instrument of communication qualification test VIII class Islamic junior hig student interpersonal was developed using theory the effectiveness of interpersonal communication developed by Devito consists of openes, empathy, supportive attitude, positive attitude and equality. Reseacrh show that Islamic junior scholar have communication skills effective interpersonal. 5% is in the very high category, 79% in the high category, 16% are in the moderate category, while done of the trainees are in the low or the very low category. The female protege has more effective interpersonal communication skills than male listener.
