Abstract

Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) adalah kondisi yang ditandai oleh tiga pola inti, yaitu gangguan pemusatan perhatian, hiperaktivitas dan impulsivitas. Orang tua yang memiliki anak dengan gangguan ADHD merasakan dampak stres yang timbul akibat dari kesulitan dan tantangan, dampak tersebut dapat dikurangi dengan menerapkan koping stres. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran koping stres pada orang tua yang memiliki anak dengan gangguan ADHD. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan wawancara terstruktur dan observasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah tiga orang tua, yaitu ayah dan ibu yang memiliki anak dengan gangguan ADHD. Data penelitian yang didapat dilengkapi dengan data significant others dari setiap orang tua. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setiap orang tua menerapkan koping stres untuk mengurangi tekanan yang mereka rasakan, namun dengan cara yang berbeda-beda. Ketiga orang tua memiliki problem focused coping dan emotional focused coping, namun dengan sub-aspek yang berbeda. Orang tua pertama dan kedua memiliki enam aspek yang sama yaitu planful problem solving, seeking informational support, confrontative coping, positive reappraisal, seeking informational support, dan self controlling. Peberdaannya adalah orang tua subjek pertama memiliki aspek escape avoidance, sedangkan orang tua subjek kedua memiliki aspek seeking social support. Orang tua ketiga hanya memiliki lima aspek yaitu planful problem solving, seeking informational support, positive reappraisal. accepting responsibility, dan distancing. Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a condition characterized by three core patterns, namely attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity and impulsivity. Parents who have children with ADHD feel the effects of stress arising from difficulties and challenges, these impacts can be reduced by applying stress coping. This study aims to determine the description of coping with stress in parents who have children with ADHD. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection in this study used structured interviews and observation. The subjects in this study were three parents, namely father and mother who have children with ADHD. The research data obtained is complemented by significant others data from each parent. The results showed that every parent applies stress coping to reduce the pressure they feel, but in different ways. The three parents have problem focused coping and emotional focused coping, but with different sub-aspects. The first and second parents have six aspects in common, namely planful problem solving, seeking informational support, confrontative coping, positive reappraisal, seeking informational support, and self controlling. The difference is that the parents of the first subject have the aspect of escape avoidance, while the parents of the second subject have the aspect of seeking social support. The third parent only has five aspects, namely planful problem solving, seeking informational support, positive reappraisal. accepting responsibility, and distancing.
