Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh dukungan sosial terhadap problematic internet use pada mahasiswa. Variabel dukungan sosial diukur dengan menggunakan Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) dan variabel problematic internet use diukur dengan Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale 2 (GPIUS2). Responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 348 orang mahasiswa yang berusia 18-25 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan teknik convenience sampling untuk pengambilan sampel. Hasil dari penelitian ini diolah dengan menggunakan bantuan aplikasi SPSS versi 26. Uji hipotesis yang digunakan untuk mengolah data penelitian adalah uji analisis regresi linear sederhana. Hasil pengolahan data penelitian menunjukkan nilai F hitung = 4,523 > F tabel = 3,88 dan nilai p sebesar 0,034 yang berarti terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari dukungan sosial terhadap problematic internet use pada mahasiswa. Nilai R square = 0,130 menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh yang diberikan dukungan sosial terhadap problematic internet use pada mahasiswa sebesar 13%. This research was conducted to see the effect of social support on problematic internet use in college students. Social support was measured using the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) and problematic internet use was measured using the Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale 2 (GPIUS2). Respondents of this study were 348 college students aged 18-25 years old. This study uses a quantitative approach using convenience technique. The result of this study was analyzed with the help of SPSS version 26 application. The hypothesis test used to process the data is the simple linear regression analysis test. The result of data processing shows the calculated F-value = 4,523 > F-table = 3,88 and the p-value = 0,034, which means that there is a significant effect of social support on problematic internet use in college students. The value of R square = 0,130 show that the effect of social support on problematic internet use in college students is 13%. Keyword: problematic internet use, social support, college students.
