Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) Memperoleh atau mengumpulkan data untuk mengembangkan model whole language yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan baca tulis permulaan anak TK B, (2) Menghasilkan model pembelajaran whole language yang layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan baca tulis permulaan di TK B, (3) Menghasilkan model pembelajaran whole language yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan baca tulis permulaan anak TK B. Penelitian dilakukan pada Januari 2020 sampai Januari 2021 di kelompok B Taman Kanak-kanak Islam Asy Syifa Cilincing, Jakarta Utara. Metode penelitian ini mengacu pada research and development yang diadaptasi dari model Borg, Gall, and Gall dengan sepuluh tahapan pengembangan model. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi literatur. Data yang disajikan pada penelitian ini terdiri dari data kualitatif dan data kuantitatif. Data kualitatif dilakukan analisis secara deskriptif. Data kuantitatif dilakukan analisis secara statistik menggunakan t-test. Hasil penelitian dari pengembangan model pembelajaran whole language ini antara lain: (1) menghasilkan model pembelajaran whole language di TK B; (2) model pembelajaran whole language yang dikembangkan terbukti layak untuk digunakan karena telah mengikuti tahapan dari pengembangan model Borg, Gall, and Gall, (3) model pembelajaran whole language ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan baca tulis permulaan anak TK B dengan menggunakan t-test. ********** This study aims to (1) obtain or collect data to develop a whole language model that can improve the early literacy skills of kindergarten B children, (2) produce a whole language learning model that is suitable for use to improve early literacy skills in kindergarten B, (3) Produce an effective whole language learning model to improve the early literacy skills of Kindergarten B children. The study was conducted from January 2020 to January 2021 in group B of Asy Syifa Cilincing Islamic Kindergarten, North Jakarta. This research method refers to research and development adapted from the Borg, Gall, and Gall model with ten stages of model development. Collecting data through observation, interviews, and literature study. The data presented in this study consisted of qualitative data and quantitative data. Qualitative data was analyzed descriptively. Quantitative data were analyzed statistically using t-test. The research results from the development of this whole language learning model include: (1) producing a whole language learning model in Kindergarten B; (2) the whole language learning model that was developed proved feasible to use because it had followed the stages of the development of the Borg, Gall, and Gall model, (3) the whole language learning model was proven to be effective in improving the early literacy skills of Kindergarten B children using t- test.
