Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kepribadian big five memengaruhi kesepian yang dialami dewasa awal di Jakarta saat pandemik Covid-19. Terdapat sebanyak 340 dewasa awal di Jakarta dengan rentang usia 18 hingga 40 tahun yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan teknik analisis regresi berganda. Variabel kesepian diukur menggunakan 6-Item De Jong Gierveld Loneliness Scale yang dikembangkan oleh De Jong Gierveld & Van Tilburg pada tahun 2006, serta variabel kepribadian big five diukur menggunakan Big Five Inventory yang dikembangkan oleh John, Donahue, & Kentle pada tahun 1991. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepribadian big five memengaruhi kesepian dewasa awal di Jakarta saat pandemik Covid-19 secara signifikan. | The aim of this study is to find out how big five personality traits predict loneliness of young adults in Jakarta during the Covid-19 pandemic. The sample of the study consisted of 340 young adults aged 18 to 40 years old in Jakarta. This study used quantitative method with multiple regression technique. Loneliness was measured with 6-Item De Jong Gierveld Loneliness Scale developed by De Jong Gierveld & Van Tilburg on 2006, and big five personality were measured with Big Five Inventory developed by John, Donahue, & Kentle on 1991. The result of the study shows that big five personality significantly predicts loneliness in young adults in Jakarta during the Covid-19 pandemic.
