Abstract

Academic buoyancy adalah kemampuan individu dalam menghadapi kemunduran akademik dan tantangan akademiknya di kehidupan sehari-hari, seperti menghadapi nilai yang buruk, menghadapi ujian, dan deadline tugas. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perbedaan academic buoyancy pada mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan di Jabodetabek. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 290 mahasiswa yang berkuliah di Jabodetabek. Sampel dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik convience sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan alat ukur Academic buoyancy Scale (Marin & Marsh, 2008) yang telah di adaptasi oleh peneliti. Hasil uji perbedaan yang dilakukan, diperoleh nilai p 0.027 < 0.05, dengan nilai mean pada laki-laki sebesar 21,90 dan perempuan sebesar 20,82. Hal tersebut menunjukkan adanya perbedaan academic buoyancy pada mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan di Jabodetabek. Mahasiswa laki-laki menunjukkan skor academic buoyancy yang lebih tinggi dibangdingkan dengan mahasiswa perempuan. Pada faktor demografi lain seperti usia dan jenis perguruan tinggi juga dilakukan uji perbedaan, hasilnya tidak ada perbedaan academic buoyancy pada usia dan jenis perguruan tinggi baik perguruan tinggi negeri maupun perguruan tinggi swasta. Dari penelitian ini diharapkan agar mahasiswa dapat menghadapi kemunduran dan tantangan akademiknya. Mahasiswa harus bisa mengontrol waktu belajarnya dan tidak bermalas-malasan walaupun harus belajar secara mandiri di rumah masing-masing. Academic buoyancy is an individual's ability to deal with academic setbacks and academic challenges in everyday life, such as dealing with poor grades, facing exams, and task deadlines. This study was conducted to determine the differences in academic buoyancy for male and female students in Jabodetabek. The sample in this study was 290 students studying in Jabodetabek. Samples were selected using convenience sampling technique. This study uses a measuring instrument Academic buoyancy Scale (Marin & Marsh, 2008) which has been adapted by researchers. The results of the difference test carried out, obtained a p value of 0.027 <0.05, with a mean value of 21.90 for men and 20.82 for women. This shows that there are differences in academic buoyancy for male and female students in Jabodetabek. Male students showedscores academic buoyancy higherthan female students. On other demographic factors such as age and type of university, a difference test was also carried out, the result was that there was no difference in academic buoyancy for the age and type of university, both public universities and private universities. From this research, it is hoped that students can face their academic setbacks and challenges. Students must be able to control their study time and not be lazy even though they have to study independently at their respective homes.
