Abstract

Mahasiswa merupakan salah satu kelompok yang rentan terjadi cyberbullying. Cyberbullying attitude merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat memprediksi terjadinya cyberbullying. Sementara itu, kecerdasan emosional diprediksi mampu menentukan sikap mahasiswa terhadap cyberbullying. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap cyberbullying attitude pada mahasiswa. Pengukuran cyberbullying attitude menggunakan alat ukur Barlett-Gentile Cyberbullying Model (BGCM) dan pengukuran kecerdasan emosional menggunakan alat ukur Assessing Emotions Scale (AES). Partisipan penelitian ini berjumlah 408 mahasiswa/i aktif di berbagai provinsi di Indonesia dengan rentang usia 18-25 tahun. Selanjutnya, data diolah dengan teknik statistik analisis regresi sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional terhadap cyberbullying attitude pada mahasiswa dengan kontribusi pengaruh sebesar 6%. College students are one of the group that are vulnerable to cyberbullying. Cyberbullying attitude is one of the factors that can predict the occurrence of cyberbullying. Meanwhile, emotional intelligence is predicted can affect college students attitude towards cyberbullying. Therefore, the study aims to determine the effect of emotional intelligence on cyberbullying attitude in college students. Cyberbullying attitude was measured by using Barlett-Gentile Cyberbullying Model (BGCM) inventory and emotional intelligence was measured by using Assessing Emotions Scale (AES). The participants of this study are 408 active college students from various province in Indonesia with aged 18-25 years old. Data was processed using simple reggression test. The result showed that there was a significant effect of emotional intelligence on cyberbullying attitude in college students with the percent of significant effect is 6%.
