Abstract

Private television stations are broadcasting organizations that broadcast creative content to be watched by as many viewers as possible. This goal will be achieved when the organization is able to develop the creativity of its employees. In this case, employee creativity is one of the keys that determines the creation of organizational excellence. This study aims to examine the effect of perceived organizational support and proactive personality through meaning of work and self-concordance on employee creativity on Indonesian national private television. In this study, the number of employees sampled was 296 respondents from 2000 populations. The procedure used in the development and testing of models and data processing is the structural equation model (SEM). Data were analyzed using statistical software AMOS 2.1. This study resulted in the finding that meaning of work and self-concordance fully mediated the influence of perceived organizational support and proactive personality on employee creativity. However, meaning of work has a higher effect when mediating the effect of perceived organizational support on employee creativity. Other results indicate that perceived organizational support and proactive personality have a positive effect on employee creativity. Meanwhile, meaning of work and self-concordance have a positive effect on employee creativity. Stasiun televisi swasta merupakan organisasi penyiaran yang menayangkan konten yang kreatif agar ditonton sebanyak mungkin pemirsa. Tujuan ini akan tercapai pada saat organisasi mampu megembangkan kreativitas karyawannya. Dalam hal ini kreativitas karyawan menjadi salah satu kunci yang menentukan bagi terciptanya keunggulan organisasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti pengaruh perceived organizational support dan proactive personality melalui meaning of work dan self concordance terhadap kreativitas karyawan di televisi swasta nasional Indonesia. Pada penelitian ini, karyawan yang dijadikan sampel berjumlah 296 responden dari 2000 populasi. Prosedur yang digunakan dalam pengembangan dan pengujian model serta pengolahan data adalah model persamaan struktural (SEM). Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak statistik AMOS 2.1. Penelitian ini menghasilkan temuan bahwa meaning of work dan self concordance memediasi secara penuh pengaruh perceived organizational support dan proactive personality terhadap kreativitas karyawan. Namun meaning of work memiliki pengaruh lebih tinggi ketika memediasi pengaruh perceived organizational support terhadap kreativitas karyawan. Hasil lain menunjukkan bahwa perceived organizational support dan proactive personality berpengaruh positif terhadap kreativitas karyawan. Sementara itu, meaning of work dan self concordance berpengaruh positif terhadap kreativitas karyawan.
