Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) Faktor – faktor pendorong minat generasi muda kepada pelestarian gamelan jawa di Komunitas Gamelan Muda Samurti Andaru Laras. (2) Upaya pelestarian gamelan Jawa di Komunitas Gamelan Muda Samurti Andaru Laras. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, dokumentasi, studi pustaka dan observasi. Metode dalam analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Sumber data penelitian ini menggunakan data primer dan data sekunder. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa faktor pendorong generasi muda kepada pelestarian gamelan Jawa di Komunitas Gamelan Muda Samurti Andaru Laras didorong oleh faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Faktor internal yaitu, keinginan dari dalam diri sendiri. Faktor eksternal yaitu berasal dari keluarga. Upaya pelestarian gamelan Jawa yang dilakukan Komunitas Gamelan Muda Samurti Andaru Laras yaitu dengan cara pengembangan dan pemanfaatan. Upaya pengembangan dilakukan dengan cara membuat inovasi pada pementasan melalaui kolaborasi alat musik modern, melakukan garapan musik dengan instrumen modern, dan berkolaborasi dengan grup musik modern. Upaya pemanfaatan dilakukan dengan membuka workshop dan kelas pemula bagi masyarakat umum yang ingin bermain gamelan Jawa dan melakukan pementasan-pementasan gamelan Jawa pada setiap event, pengiring pernikahan maupun perlombaan. This study aims to determine: (1) the factors incentive the interest of the younger generation to the preservation of Javanese gamelan in the Young Gamelan Community of Samurti Andaru Laras. (2) Efforts to preserve Javanese gamelan in the Samurti Andaru Laras Community. This study uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques used are interviews, documentation, literature study and observation. The methods of data analysis used are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The data sources of this research use primary data and secondary data. The results of the study concluded that the incentive factors for the younger generation to preserve Javanese gamelan in the Young Gamelan Community of Samurti Andaru Laras were driven by internal and external factors. Internal factors, the desire from within oneself. External factors that come from the family. The effort to preserve Javanese gamelan carried out by the Young Gamelan Community of Samurti Andaru Laras is by developing and utilizing it. Development efforts are carried out by making innovations in performances through collaboration with modern musical instruments, making music with modern instruments, and collaborating with modern music groups. Utilization efforts are made by opening workshops and beginner classes for the general public who want to play Javanese gamelan and perform Javanese gamelan performances at every event, wedding accompaniment or competition.
