Abstract

Krisis iklim merupakan salah satu permasalahan lingkungan global yang terus berlanjut. Permasalahan ini disebabkan oleh aktivitas manusia yang tidak bertanggung jawab dan hanya mementingkan kebutuhan pribadi tanpa memperdulikan lingkungan. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah menanamkan perilaku tanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peranan big-five personality sebagai mediator antara student’s attitude toward environment dengan responsible environmental behavior peserta didik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Cibinong pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2021/2022 dengan sampel penelitian berjumlah 73 peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode survei yang bersifat kausal dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis jalur. Hasil perhitungan koefisien reliabilitas instrumen responsible environmental behavior sebesar 0,929, student’s attitude toward environment sebesar 0,906, dan big-five personality sebesar 0,910 berarti ketiga instrumen dapat dipercaya. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa student’s attitude toward environment berpengaruh langsung terhadap responsible environmental behavior secara signifikan, big-five personality berpengaruh langsung terhadap responsible environmental behavior secara signifikan, student’s attitude toward environment berpengaruh langsung terhadap big-five personality secara signifikan, student’s attitude toward environment berpengaruh tidak langsung terhadap responsible environmental behavior melalui big-five personality sehingga big-five personality dapat dijadikan variabel mediator antara student’s attitude toward environment dan responsible environmental behavior. This problem is caused by irresponsible human activities and only concerned with personal needs without caring about environment. One of the efforts that can be made with responsible environmental behavior. This research was conducted to determine the role of big-five personality as mediator between student’s attitude toward environment and responsible environmental behavior. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Cibinong in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 school year with a research sample of 73 students. The method used is a survey method through causal studies and analyzed by path analysis. The result of reliability coefficient calculation of responsible environmental behavior instrument was 0.929, student’s attitude toward environment was 0.906, and big-five personality was 0.910, which indicates that the instruments can be trusted. The result showed that student’s attitude toward environment had a direct effect on responsible environmental behavior significantly, big-five personality had a direct effect on responsible environmental behavior significantly, student’s attitude toward environment had a direct effect on big-five personality significantly, and student’s attitude toward environment had an indirect effect on responsible environmental behavior through big-five personality significantly. So big-five personality can be used as a mediator variable between big-five personality and responsible environmental behavior.
