Abstract

Kerusakan lingkungan sering terjadi disebabkan oleh perubahan lingkungan dan ekologi sebagai akibat dari proses perkembangan ekonomi, teknologi dan kurangnya kesadaran manusia untuk menjaga lingkungan. Pendidikan mempunyai pengaruh besar terhadap generasi bangsa, oleh sebab itu penting untuk memahami faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi peserta didik untuk melakukan perilaku pro-ekologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh kepribadian (big-five personality ) dan new ecological paradigm terhadap pro-ecological behavior peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode survei melalui studi kausal dan dianalisis dengan analisis jalur. Penelitian ini melibatkan 79 peserta didik di SMAN 14 Jakarta, tahun ajaran 2021/2022 yang dipilih melalui teknik multi stage random sampling. Hasil perhitungan koefisien reliabilitas instrumen pro-ecological behavior sebesar 0.898, new ecological paradigm sebesar 0.880, dan big-five personality sebesar 0,857. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa big-five personality berpengaruh langsung terhadap new ecological paradigm, big-five personality berpengaruh langsung terhadap pro-ecological behavior peserta didik, new ecological paradigm tidak terbukti sebagai variabel mediator yang signifikan mempengaruhi pro-ecological behavior dengan big five personality peserta didik. Kata Kunci : Analisis jalur, kepribadian, paradigma ekologi baru, perilaku pro-ekologi, peserta didik. Environmental damage often occurs due to environmental and ecological changes as a result of the process of economic development, technology and lack of human awareness to protect environment. Education is an institution that has a major influence on the nation’s generation, therefore it is important to understand the factors that influence students to carry out pro-ecological behavior. This study aims to determine the effect of big-five personality and new ecological paradigm toward pro-ecological behavior students. The method used is a survey method through causal studies and analyzed by path analysis. This study involved 79 students at SMAN 14 Jakarta in the odd semester of the 2021/2022, sample were selected using a multi stage random sampling technique. The calculation result of the reliability coefficient of the pro-ecological behavior instrument are 0.898, new ecological paradigm is 0.880, and the big-five personality is 0.857. The result of this study indicate that the big-five personality has a direct effect on new ecological paradigm, the big-five personality has a direct effect on pro-ecological behavior students, and the new ecological paradigm has not been proven to be a significant mediator variable affecting pro-ecological behavior with the big-five personality.
