Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the involvement of 4Cs skills in the English lesson plans of grade 7. The data were collected through content analysis on ten lesson plans of public and private junior high schools located in Jakarta and Bekasi. It was found that all examined lesson plans have involved 4Cs skills, which are: Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity. However, there were indicators of each skill that more dominantly appeared in a specific topic or were seen not to be involved in any examined lesson plans. It also found that teachers mostly involve the 4Cs skills in the learning activity and assessment. Aside from those, critical thinking was the hardest to find in the analyzed lesson plans. These findings are expected to recommend educators, especially English teachers, in designing lesson plans which involve the 4Cs skills as the keys to a lifetime of learning and creative work as the current world of work. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keterlibatan keterampilan 4Cs dalam RPP Bahasa Inggris kelas 7. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui analisis isi pada sepuluh RPP bahasa Inggris kelas 7 pada SMP negeri dan swasta yang berlokasi di Jakarta dan Bekasi. Ditemukan bahwa semua RPP yang diteliti telah melibatkan keterampilan 4C yaitu: Komunikasi, Kolaborasi, Berpikir Kritis dan Kreativititas. Namun, ada indikator dari masing-masing keterampilan yang lebih dominan muncul pada topik tertentu atau tidak muncul dalam RPP yang diteliti. Ditemukan juga bahwa guru sebagian besar melibatkan keterampilan 4Cs dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dan penilian. Selain itu, berpikir kritis adalah keterampilan yang paling sulit ditemukan dalam RPP yang dianalisis. Temuan dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rekomendasi bagi para pendidik khususnya guru bahasa Inggris dalam merancang RPP yang melibatkan keterampilan 4Cs sebagai kunci pembelajaran seumur hidup dan karya kreatif dalam dunia kerja saat ini.
