Abstract

Skripsi ini mengkaji tentang Nasionalisme Soe Hok Gie, seorang keturunan Etnis Tionghoa yang tergabung sebagai Aktivis Mahasiswa Angkatan 66. Penelitian skripsi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui latar belakang munculnya nasionalisme Soe Hok Gie, serta bagaimana Soe Hok Gie menunjukan wujud dari nasionalismenya sebagai aktivis mahasiswa Angkatan 66 pada Masa Peralihan (1959-1969). Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam skripsi ini adalah metode sejarah dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif naratif. Metode penelitian sejarah terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu heuristik (pengumpulan sumber), verifikasi (kritik sumber), interpretasi (penafsiran) dan historiografi (penulisan). Hasil penelitian menunjukan nasionalisme yang diperjuangkan Soe Hok Gie adalah sosio-demokrasi yang tidak hanya fokus pada kesetaraan politik, tetapi juga kesejahteraan masyarakat secara menyeluruh. Nasionalisme Soe Hok Gie muncul karena pemerintahan Demokrasi Terpimpin yang membuat berbagai kebijakan dalam bidang politik, ekonomi dan sosial. Sementara itu, wujud nasionalisme Soe Hok Gie sebagai aktivis mahasiswa Angkatan 66 selama Masa Peralihan (1959-1969) dilakukan melalui dua cara. Pertama, secara langsung dengan aktif berdemonstrasi melalui tergabungnya Soe Hok Gie sebagai aktivis mahasiswa Angkatan 66. Kedua, secara tertulis dengan kritik terhadap pemerintah melalui buku catatan harian dan karya-karya yang di terbitkan di berbagai surat kabar seperti Kompas, Mahasiswa Indonesia, Harian KAMI, Sinar Harapan dan lain-lain. This thesis examines the Nationalism of Soe Hok Gie, an ethnic Chinese descendant who is a member of the Batch 66 Student Activist. This thesis research aims to find out the background of the emergence of Soe Hok Gie's nationalism, and how Soe Hok Gie showed his form of nationalism as a Activist of the Batch 66 during the Transition Period (1959-1969).The research method used in this thesis is the historical method using a descriptive narrative approach. The historical research method consists of four stages, namely heuristics (source collection), verification (source criticism), interpretation (interpretation) and historiography (writing). The results showed that the nationalism that Soe Hok Gie is fighting for is socio-democratic which does not only focus on political equality, but also the welfare of society as a whole. Soe Hok Gie's nationalism emerged because the Guided Democracy government made various policies in the political, economic and social fields. Meanwhile, the manifestation of Soe Hok Gie’s nationalism as a activist Batch 66 during the Transition Period (1959-1969) was carried out in two ways. First, directly by actively demonstrating through the joining of Soe Hok Gie as a activist Batch 66. Second, in writing with criticisms of the government through diaries and works published in various newspapers such as Kompas, Mahasiswa Indonesia, Harian KAMI, Sinar Harapan and others.
