Abstract

Pemberitaan mengenai UU Cipta Kerja yang ramai dibicarakan pada akhir tahun 2020 dapat ditemukan pada banyak media, salah satunya media tempo.co. Hal ini menarik untuk dibahas karena dalam UU tersebut memuat pasal-pasal yang dianggap kontroversial sehingga memunculkan pro-kontra dan dinilai memposisikan pekerja dalam ancaman/kerugian. Berdasarkan latar belakang di atas, maka tujuan penelitian ini adalah menjawab pertanyaan penelitian mengenai bagaimana media tempo.co mewacanakan kasus kerusuhan saat demonstrasi UU Cipta Kerja berlangsung. Untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian, peneliti menggunakan teori analisis wacana kritis model Theo van Leeuwen.. Dalam wacana van Leeuwen, ia memusatkan perhatiannya pada bagaimana aktor dimarjinalkan posisinya melalui eksklusi dan inklusi. Beberapa teori pendukung seperti ideologi media juga peneliti gunakan untuk memberikan analisis yang lebih mendalam mengenai wacana di bidang media. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi paradigma kritis dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Dalam pemberitaan mengenai UU Cipta Kerja, media daring tempo.co memposisikan para demonstran dalam aksi unjuk rasa UU Cipta Kerja sebagai pihak yang disudutkan, sedangkan pihak kepolisian/pemerintah dianggap sebagai pihak yang benar dalam bertindak. Keberpihakan media sangat ditentukan oleh ideologi yang dianut oleh media. Media daring tempo.co memiliki ideologi nasionalis yang melatarbelakangi penciptaan artikel yang melindungi pihak pemerintah. Pada dasarnya setiap media melakukan upaya hegemoni tidak terkecuali media daring tempo.co. Kata kunci: Wacana Kritis, Theo van Leeuwen, Eksklusi, Inklusi, Tempo.co, UU Cipta Kerja. ---- The news about UU Cipta Kerja that was being discussed at the end of 2020 can be found in many media, one of which is tempo.co. This is interesting to discuss because the Law contains articles that are considered controversial so that it raises pros and cons and is considered to position workers in threats/losses. Based on the above background, the purpose of this study is to answer research questions regarding how the tempo.co media discussed the riot case during the UU Cipta Kerja demonstration. To answer the research question, the researcher uses Theo van Leeuwen's theory of critical discourse analysis. In van Leeuwen's discourse, he focuses his attention on how actors are marginalized through exclusion and inclusion. Some supporting theories such as media ideology are also used by researchers to provide a more in-depth analysis of discourse in the media field. This study uses a critical paradigm methodology with a qualitative approach. In reporting on UU Cipta Kerja, media online tempo.co positioned the demonstrators in UU Cipta Kerja rallies as being cornered, while the police/government were considered the right parties to act. The media's alignment is largely determined by the ideology adopted by the media. The online media tempo.co has a nationalist ideology behind the creation of articles that protect the government.
