Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mengidentifikasi perwatakan tokoh utama novel Koplak, (2) mengidentifikasi struktur kepribadian tokoh utama novel Koplak, dan (3) mengidentifikasi dinamika kepribadian tokoh utama dalam novel Koplak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan psikologi sastra, secara spesifik teori psikoanalisis Sigmund Freud. Penelitian terlebih dulu menentukan watak, menguraikan struktur kepribadian sebagai dasar, kemudian menelaah dinamika kepribadian sebagai bentuk yang lebih konkret. Data yang diperoleh berasal dari kutipan dalam novel yang sesuai dengan kriteria yang diminta struktur dan dinamika kepribadian. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut: (1) naluri hidup Koplak berfungsi dengan baik, tanpa ditemukannya naluri mati, (2) Koplak mengalami tiga jenis kecemasan yaitu kecemasan objektif, kecemasan neurotik, dan kecemasan moral, dan (3) Koplak menerapkan lima dari sepuluh mekanisme pertahanan ego yang ada, yaitu represi, sublimasi, pengalihan, intelektualisasi, dan humor dengan pengalihan mendominasi. The purpose of this study is to identify (1) Koplak's characteristics (2) the structure of personality of Koplak and (3) the dynamics of personality of Koplak. This study used literature psychology, specifically Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis theory. This study first and foremost analyzed Koplak's character, structure of personality as the basic, and dynamics of personality as the more concrete form. The data obtained are from the novel's quotes that meet the criteria for structure and dynamic personality. The result of this study are (1) Koplak's life instinct is working well, without the death instinct being found (2) Koplak experienced three types of anxiety, objective anxiety, neurotic anxiety, and moral anxiety (3) Koplak is using five out of ten defense mechanisms; repression, sublimation, displacement, intellectualization, and humor, as the displacement dominates.
