Abstract

*ABSTRAK* Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat hubungan keberfungsian keluarga dan problematic internet use pada mahasiswa. Variabel problematic internet use diukur menggunakan alat ukur Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale 2 (GPIUS2) dan variabel keberfungsian keluarga menggunakan alat ukur General Functioning dari Family Assessment Device (GF 12). Responden pada penelitian ini yaitu 405 orang mahasiswa di Indonesia yang berusia 18 – 25 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling untuk mengambil sampel. Hasil dari penelitian ini diolah menggunakan bantuan aplikasi SPSS versi 22. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan pengujian hipotesis melalui uji korelasi. Hubungan antara keberfungsian keluarga dan problematic internet use bersifat negatif dengan nilai -0.505. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin rendah keberfungsian keluarga, maka semakin tinggi problematic internet use. Sebaliknya, jika semakin tinggi keberfungsian keluarga maka semakin rendah problematic internet use yang dapat dialami oleh mahasiswa. *ABSTRACT* This study was conducted to determine the relationship between family functioning and problematic internet use in college student. The problematic internet use variable was Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale 2 (GPIUS2) and the family functioning variable was measured using the General Functioning measuring instrument from FAD (GF 12). Respondents in this study were 405 college students in Indonesia aged 18-25 years. This study uses a quantitative approach using purposive sampling technique to take samples. The result of this study was analyzed with the help of SPSS version 22. Data processing is done by testing the hypothesis through correlation test. The relationship between family functioning and problematic internet use is negative with value -0.505. The result shows the lower family functioning, the higher problematic internet use. Otherwise, the higher family functioning, the lower problematic internet use that can be experienced by the college students.
