Abstract

*ABSTRAK* Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perceived social support terhadap kesehatan mental pada emerging adulthood di Jakarta. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan, yaitu pendekatan kuantitatif. Data diperoleh dari penyebaran kuesioner melalui google form kepada 298 responden yang berusia 18-25 tahun dan berdomisili di DKI Jakarta. Dalam penelitian ini, alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Mental Health Inventory (MHI) oleh Veit & Ware (1983) dan Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) oleh Gregory D. Zimet, Nancy W. Dahlem, Sara G. Zimet, dan Gordon K. Farley (1988). Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linier satu prediktor. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan persepsi dukungan sosial terhadap kesehatan mental emerging adulthood di DKI Jakarta. Kemudian, persepsi dukungan sosial terbukti memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap kesehatan mental. Artinya apabila emerging adult memiliki persepsi dukungan sosial yang tinggi, maka kesehatan mental dari emerging adult tersebut diprediksi akan tinggi. Kata Kunci: Persepsi Dukungan Sosial, Kesehatan Mental, Emerging Adulthood. *ABSTRACT* This research aims to determine the effect of perceived social support on mental health in emerging adulthood in Jakarta. This research uses a quantitative approach. The data was collected through Google Form distributed to 298 respondent with age ranging from 18-25 years and is currently living in Jakarta. In this study, the measuring instruments used were the Mental Health Inventory (MHI) by Veit & Ware (1983) and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) by Gregory D. Zimet, Nancy W. Dahlem, Sara G. Zimet, and Gordon. K. Farley (1988). The data were analyzed using linear regression analysis of one predictor. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect of perceived social support on mental health in emerging adulthood in DKI Jakarta. Perceived social support was shown to have a positive influence on mental health in emerging adult in DKI Jakarta. This means that if an emerging adult has a high perceived social support, the mental health of the emerging adult is predicted to be high.
