Abstract

Komunikasi merupakan salah satu kemampuan penting yang perlu ditumbuhkan dan ditingkatkan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dapat diselenggarakan melalui penerapan model pembelajaran yang di dalamnya terdapat aktivitas diskusi antar siswa maupun guru, salah satunya model pembelajaran Student Facilitator and Explaining. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran Student Facilitator and Explaining pada pembelajaran jarak jauh berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP Negeri 139 Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu quasi experiment tipe posttest-only control group design dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling. Instrumen penelitian ini berupa tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis pada materi segiempat dan segitiga berjumlah 5 soal uraian yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Student Facilitator and Explaining pada pembelajaran jarak jauh berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa sebesar 79%. Communication is one of the important skills that need to be grown and improved in learning mathematics. Improving mathematical communication skills can be carried out through the application of learning models in which there are discussion activities between students and teachers, one of which is the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model. This study aims to determine whether the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model in distance learning has an effect to student’s mathematical communication skills at 139 Junior High School Jakarta. The research method used a quasi-experimental type of posttest-only control group design with a sampling technique using cluster random sampling. This research instrument used a mathematical communication skills test in quadrilaterals and triangles in totaling 5 questions which had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model in distance learning had a significant effect on students' mathematical communication skills by 79%.
