Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perbedaan bentuk strategi koping yang digunakan peserta didik SMP ketika menghadapi burnout akademik selama pandemi COVID-19. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif komparatif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 166 peserta didik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan School Burnout Inventory (SBI) yang diadaptasi oleh Rahman (2020) dan Coping Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents (CQCA) yang diadaptasi oleh Novrizal (2018). Teknik analisis data untuk memperoleh perbedaan strategi koping peserta didik ketika menghadapi burnout akademik menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Peserta didik cenderung mengalami burnout akademik sedang sebesar 60%, tinggi sebesar 22%, dan rendah sebesar 18%. Kemudian aspek kelelahan emosional merupakan aspek burnout akademik yang paling banyak dialami oleh peserta didik dengan persentase sebesar 53%; 2) Peserta didik cenderung menggunakan strategi emotion focused coping dengan persentase sebesar 51% dibandingkan problem focused coping sebesar 49%; 3) Tidak terdapat perbedaan strategi koping yang dilakukan oleh peserta didik yang memiliki burnout akademik rendah, sedang, dan tinggi. Kriteria uji tolak H0 jika p-value < α (α = 5% atau 0,05), karena p-value pada Problem Focused Coping (PFC) sebesar 0,765 (>0,05) dan Emotion Focused Coping (EFC) sebesar 0,900 (>0,05), maka H0 diterima. Artinya, tidak terdapat perbedaan strategi koping yang dilakukan oleh peserta didik SMP yang memiliki burnout akademik rendah, sedang, dan tinggi selama pandemi COVID-19. This study aims to find out the difference of coping strategies used by junior high school students when getting academic burnout during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method used is the comparative descriptive method with quantitative approach. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling with a total of 166 respondents. The data collection was carried out by deploying the School Burnout Inventory (SBI) adapted by Rahman (2020) and the Coping Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents (CQCA) adapted by Novrizal (2018). Data analysis techniques to find out the differences in students coping strategies when getting academic burnout is descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that: 1) Students have academic burnout which is medium (60%), high (22%), and low (18%). Emotional exhaustion is the most widely aspect of academic burnout with a percentage of 53%; 2) Students tend to use emotion focused coping with percentage of 51% compared to problem focused coping with percentage of 49%; 3) There is no difference in coping strategies used by students who have a low, medium, and high academic burnout. Criteria for rejecting H0 if p-value < α (α = 5% or 0.05), because the p-value in Problem Focused Coping (PFC) is 0.765 (>0.05) and Emotion Focused Coping (EFC) is 0.900 (>0.05), then H0 is not rejected. So, there is no difference in the coping strategies used by junior high school students who have low, medium, and high academic burnout during the COVID-19 pandemic.
