Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui profil gaya belajar siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 136 Jakarta Utara. Metode yang digunakan adalah survey. Sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan teknik probability sampling dengan jenis cluster sampling. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 315. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 140 orang siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tentang gaya belajar siswa. Ujicoba instrumen dilakukan terhadap 56 responden. Pengujian perhitungan validitas dan realibilitas instrumen diolah menggunakan SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution). Hasil perhitungan validitas menunjukkan 29 butir item valid dan 1 butir item tidak valid, sedangkan reliabilitas instrumen dihitung menggunakan rumus Alpha menunjukan 0,859 yang berarti instrumen termasuk dalam kategori reliable. Teknik analisis data menggunakan potret data (frekuensi dan persentase). Hasil dari penelitian ini, diperoleh bahwa;(1) gaya belajar yang dominan pada siswa yakni gaya belajar Kinestetik, gaya belajar Visual, dan terakhir gaya belajar Audio, (2) hasil analisis pada jenis kelamin, gaya belajar Auditori dan Visual di dominasi oleh siswa perempuan, namun secara keseluruhan baik siswa laki–laki maupun perempuan gaya belajar yang paling dominan yaitu gaya belajar Kinestetik. The purpose of this research was to determine the profile learning style on 7 th grade students in SMP Negeri 136 Jakarta Utara. The method used was survey. Samples in this research was using probability sampling technique with type of cluster sampling. The study population totaled 315. The study sample consisted of 140 students. The instrument used was an instrument of the student’s learning style. Instrument testing was conducted on 56 respondents. Testing the validity and realibility of the instrument calculation was processed using SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution). The result of validity calculation pronounced that 29 grains of item were valid and 1 grains of item were not, whereas the reliability of the instrument was calculated using the Alpha formula indicated 0.859 which mean the instrument was included into reliable category. Data analysis technique using a portrait data (frequencies and percentages). The results of this research, found was; (1) learning styles are dominant in students was Kinesthetic, Visual and then Auditory, (2) the results of the analysis on gender, learning style Auditory and Visual dominated by female students, but overall both male and female students the most dominant learning style was kinesthetic.
