Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui deskripsi kompetensi enabling berbasis European Profiling Grid (EPG) dalam menganalisis kurikulum program studi pendidikan bahasa Inggris dan program profesi guru; bagaimana kompetensi enabling berbasis European Profiling Grid (EPG) dikembangkan dalam kurikulum; dan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana kompetensi enabling berbasis European Profiling Grid (EPG) tercakup dalam kurikulum. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis isi. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah kurikulum program studi pendidikan bahasa Inggris dan program profesi guru dari lima universitas dan indikator kemampuan penguasaan substansi pengetahuan berbasis European Profiling Grid (EPG). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 49 deskripsi kompetensi enabling berbasis European Profiling Grid (EPG) yang disusun berdasarkan enam fase perkembangan mencakup kompetensi antar budaya, kesadaran berbhasa, dan digital media. Kurikulum di semua universitas mengandung kompetensi antar budaya dan kesadaran berbahasa dalam mata kuliah mereka. Namun, hanya kurikulum dari tiga universitas yang berisi kompetensi digital media. Untuk kompetensi antarbudaya dan kesadaran bahasa, kurikulum program studi pendidikan bahasa Inggris dan program profesi guru dari lima universitas mengandung kompetensi enabling untuk guru pemula dan guru yang sudah berpengalaman. Untuk digital media, kurikulum dari tiga universitas mengandung kompetensi enabling untuk guru pemula, guru yang sudah berpengalaman, dan guru ahli. Namun, kurikulum program profesi guru hanya mengandung kompetensi enabling untuk guru berpengalaman. This research aimed to find out the descriptors of EPG-enabling competences in analyzing the curricula of English education study programs and pre-service teacher training program; how European Profiling Grid (EPG) - based enabling competences are developed in the existing curricula; and to what extent EPG - based enabling competences are included in the existing curricula. This research used content analysis. The data were the existing curricula of English education study programs and pre-service teacher training program and EPG-enabling competences. The result revealed that the descriptors of EPG-enabling competences has 49 descriptors that covered intercultural competencies, language awareness, and digital media. The descriptors are arranged in six development phases. Another result showed that the curricula of all universities contain intercultural competence and language awareness in their courses. However, only three universities curricula contain digital media. For intercultural and language awareness, the curricula of English education study programs and pre-service teacher training program contain EPG– enabling competences for novice teacher and experienced teacher. For digital media, the curricula from three universities contain EPG-enabling competences for novice teacher, experienced teacher and expert teacher. However, the curriculum of pre-service teacher training program only contains EPG –enabling competences for experienced teacher.
